Camby active, earns DNP

News: Knicks center Marcus Camby was ruled active for Game 1 of New York's first-round playoff series against the Celtics. However, he did not see the court in the 85-78 win, instead earning a DNP-coach's decision on the box score.
Analysis: Camby has dealt with the old plantar fasciitis numerous times throughout his career and it limited him to just 24 games this season. He averaged just 3.5 points and 3.3 rebounds over that span, so we really don't know how much the 38-year-old realistically has left in the tank. At this point, it doesn't appear he will have much Fantasy value heading into next season.

Camby's status remains unknown

News: The New York Times reports that Knicks center Marcus Camby (plantar fasciitis) participated in practice Thursday, but coach Mike Woodson said he was unsure whether he would play against the Celtics in Game 1.
Analysis: We hope Camby can return against the Celtics, but keep an eye on his progress prior to game time. When healthy and active, Camby is a low-end Fantasy option in the majority of leagues.

Camby remains idle

News: Knicks center Marcus Camby (plantar faciitis) was ruled out for Friday's contest against the Cavaliers. Camby, who has now missed five straight games with his injury, is expected to be remain sidelined until the playoffs, according to the team's official website.
Analysis: Camby has dealt with the old plantar fasciitis numerous times throughout his career and it is once again an issue. The veteran hasn't seen much of the court when he has been healthy this season, so we would be surprised if he returns prior to the start of the postseason. Fantasy owners should continue to ignore Camby in all formats whether he is healthy or not.

Camby likely to remain out

News: The Knicks report Wednesday that center Marcus Camby will be listed as doubtful for Thursday's game at Chicago. Camby has missed three straight games with an injured foot.
Analysis: It sounds like Camby will be out against the Bulls, so keep him reserved in all leagues. When healthy and active, Camby is a low-end Fantasy option in the majority of leagues.

Camby still not ready

News: Knicks center Marcus Camby was ruled out for Tuesday's contest against the Wizards due to plantar fasciitis. Camby has missed three straight games with his ailment and is unlikely to return prior to the start of the postseason, according to the team's official website.

The veteran hasn't seen much of the court when he has been healthy this season, so we would be surprised if he returns prior to the start of the postseason. Camby still missing for Knicks

News: New York center Marcus Camby (plantar fasciitis) missed Sunday's game at Oklahoma City, reports NBA.com. Camby is being listed as day to day for now.
Analysis: Camby has missed the last five straight games for the Knicks now and was seeing limited minutes prior to missing this time. He has low-end Fantasy value, even when healthy, at this point in the season.

Camby sits with plantar fasciitis

News: Knicks center Marcus Camby was ruled out for Friday's contest against the Bucks due to plantar fasciitis. Camby, who has only appeared in five of New York's last 10 games, is being listed as day to day, according to the team's official website.
Analysis: Camby has dealt with the old plantar fasciitis numerous times throughout his career and it is once again an issue. The veteran hasn't seen much of the court when he has been healthy this season, so we would be surprised if he returns prior to the start of the postseason. Camby barely playing

News: Despite being cleared to play through a lingering plantar fascia issue, Knicks center Marcus Camby has not taken the floor in either of the team's last two games. Camby earned a DNP - coach's decision for the second straight game Tuesday against the Celtics. Camby has appeared in eight of 13 games since returning from his injury at the beginning of the month.
Analysis: Given the Knicks' injury woes, it says a lot that Camby has been unable to find the floor much. At 39 year's old, it is not particularly surprising, however, as Camby as has been declining for years. Camby is averaging just 1.8 points and 3.5 rebounds per game, and can be safely ignored in all Fantasy formats moving forward.

Camby dressing for Knicks

News: New York center Marcus Camby, who has been out since Jan. 10 due to a strained plantar fasciitis, dressed for the Knicks Sunday against Miami. Camby was available to see minutes, but never got off the bench for coach Mike Woodson.
Analysis: Camby was able to participate in a scrimmage session earlier this week and appears to be nearing his return. When he actually gets on the court again, we're not sure. The 38-year-old is not expected to make much of an impact moving forward. He averaged just just 2.1 points and 3.7 rebounds in the 14 games he played in thus far, so continue to ignore him in all Fantasy formats.

Camby out Friday, but available Sunday

News: Knicks center Marcus Camby told the New York Post that he will not play Friday night against the Wizards. Camby, who has been sidelined since Jan. 10 with a sprained plantar fascia, told reporters that he'll be ready to return against the Heat on Sunday.
Analysis: Camby was able to participate in a scrimmage session earlier this week and appears to be nearing his return, so we'll continue to monitor his progress moving forward. The 38-year-old should be ready to return Sunday, but is not expected to make much of an impact moving forward. He averaged just just 2.1 points and 3.7 rebounds in the 14 games he played in thus far, so continue to ignore him in all Fantasy formats moving forward.

Camby could return vs. Wizards

News: Knicks center Marcus Camby (foot) was able to participate in Tuesday's scrimmage session without restriction and could make his season debut Friday against the Wizards, reports the New York Post. Camby has been sidelined since Jan. 10 with a sprained plantar fascia.
Analysis: Camby will still have to get through Thursday's session without suffering any type of setback, but assuming he does, he should be back on the court Friday night. However, that shouldn't matter to most Fantasy owners as the 38-year-old was averaged just 2.1 points and 3.7 rebounds in the 14 games he played in thus far. We wouldn't expect those numbers to rise much once he returns, so continue to ignore the veteran in all formats for the time being.

Camby practices for Knicks

News: New York center Marcus Camby was able to practice on Saturday with the team, but there is still no timetable for his return to game action, reports ESPN.
Analysis: The Knicks just signed Kenyon Martin to a 10-day contract as they are resigned to not having Camby at the moment. We're not sure when he'll be able to play again and doubt he'd have any relevant value even when he does. Camby can be on waivers in most Fantasy leagues.

Camby able to scrimmage

News: According to Newsday, Knicks center Marcus Camby was able to scrimmage Thursday. Camby returned to practice Tuesday as he continues to return from a foot injury. He has been sidelined since mid-January with a strained left plantar fascia and has been limited to only 14 games this season.
Analysis: Camby has minimal Fantasy value in the majority of leagues. He is averaging a career-low 2.1 points per game while being a minor part of the rotation (10.4 minutes per game). Fantasy owners should track his progress, but the 38-year-old is considered a non-factor in the majority of formats.

Camby back on practice court

News: For the first time this season, the Knicks had all 15 players on the roster together as center Marcus Camby and forward Rasheed Wallace returned to practice Tuesday, MSG Network reports. Both players have been nursing foot injuries and are hoping to return by the end of the month.
Analysis: Camby, who has been sidelined since mid-January with a strained left plantar fascia, has been limited to only 14 games this season as injuries continue to erode his productivity at the twilight of his career. He is averaging a career-low 2.1 points per game while being a minor part of the rotation (10.4 minutes per game) when healthy. Fantasy owners should track his progress, but the 38-year-old is considered a marginal option for now.

Camby out until ASB

News: Knicks coach Knicks coach Mike Woodson told reporters that he is hopeful that center Marcus Camby (foot) will be able to return sometime after the All-Star break. Camby has been sidelined since Jan. 10 with a strained left plantar fascia.
Analysis: Camby has only been able to get on the court for 14 games thus far this season, but based on his injury history and age (38), that shouldn't come as a surprise. It sounds like he will now be sidelined until at least the All-Star break and of course that is assuming he doesn't suffer any type of setback. While Camby was a nice Fantasy option in his heyday, he doesn't have much Fantasy value at this point in his career, even when healthy.

Coach clears status on Camby

News: Knicks coach Mike Woodson said Sunday he expects center Marcus Camby to return from a foot injury within the original timetable of 2-4 weeks, the New York Post reports. There was some confusion last week that Camby would not be able to begin running for another two weeks as he continues to deal with plantar fasciitis in his left foot. But he could return within the next week after re-aggravating the foot issue Jan. 10.
Analysis: Camby has already been sidelined for nearly three weeks so his return could be on the horizon. However, when he does take the court he is not considered a strong option in the majority of Fantasy formats after averaging 2.1 points and 3.7 rebounds per game.

Camby to resume running soon

News: ESPN.com is reporting that Knicks center Marcus Camby, who has been sidelined since Jan. 10 with a strained left plantar fascia, is no longer in a walking boot and is expected to begin running in 2-3 weeks. He is averaging 2.1 points with 3.7 rebounds on the year.
Analysis: Camby has been out for over two weeks already with the injury and is ready to start his recovery process, so we'll keep an eye on his status moving forward. Still, the 38-year-old has not had a huge role with the Knicks this season and is only averaging 10.4 minutes per game. He has marginal Fantasy value in the deepest of formats, even when healthy.

Camby to miss 2-4 weeks

News: The Knicks announced on Friday that center Marcus Camby will miss two to four weeks due to a strained left plantar fascia. Camby left Thursday's loss to the Pacers with the issue and is averaging 2.1 points with 3.7 rebounds on the year. “We’ll get him back rehabbed again and try to get him back on the floor when we can,” coach Mike Woodson said.
Analysis: Camby missed time earlier in the season due to plantar fasciitis in his left foot and now could miss up to a month. The 38-year-old has not had a huge role with the Knicks thus far, even when healthy, so owners in the deepest of Fantasy formats should be the only ones monitoring his status going forward.

Camby hurts foot again

News: Knicks center Marcus Camby was forced to leave Thursday’s game against the Pacers in the third quarter, after suffering a left foot injury. Camby finished with seven points and five rebounds in 20 minutes, while shooting 3 for 9 from the field before leaving. His status moving forward is not yet known.
Analysis: Camby was dealing with a left foot injury earlier in the season, and he told the New York Post in recent days that a cortisone shot had limited the pain in the foot, but that it still lingered. It appears this was an aggravation of that lingering injury, so this might end up costing him some time. Camby has been starting at times for the Knicks, but he is averaging just 1.7points and 3.6 rebounds per game. He has value only in the deepest of Fantasy formats, even when healthy.

Camby earns first start

News: Knicks center Marcus Camby got the start for the first time Thursday against the Spurs. He played 16 minutes, scoring two points on 1 of 1 shooting, while grabbing six rebounds. He added one blocked shot and one assist, in a 100-83 win.
Analysis: Camby has fallen completely off as an offensive player this season, a trend that has been years in the making. At this point, Camby is basically able to provide just a handful of rebounds per game, and very little else. He is averaging 2.8 points and 4.8 rebounds per game, and can be ignored in all but the deepest of Fantasy formats until his play picks up.

Camby gets back on the court

News: New York center Marcus Camby tallied four points and four rebounds during the Knicks' 100-94 loss to the Lakers on Tuesday. Camby played eight minutes off the bench in his first outing since missing the previous 12 games with plantar fasciitis. He also added a block.
Analysis: Now in his 17th NBA season, Camby is not expected to receive much playing time off the bench for the Knicks. Prior to the injury, he surpassed 10 minutes only once while averaging less than a point per game. He is still contributing on the glass (2.5 rpg), but his overall production is not enough to warrant him Fantasy consideration in most formats.

Camby playing on Christmas

News: New York center Marcus Camby told the New York Post Sunday that he expects to play on Christmas at the Lakers. Camby has missed the last 12 games due to plantar fasciitis. Camby took a cortisone shot last week to ease the pain. “I’m ready to compete,’’ Camby said. “We have to find time to get Tyson [Chandler] some rest. He’s been playing exceptional basketball. We need to find time to get him minutes.’’
Analysis: Camby said most of the pain in his foot is gone but also said that nobody is playing pain-free at this time of year. Expected to get back on the court Tuesday, we're still fairly certain more time off is in his future as he's going to struggle to stay healthy all year. Camby has low-end Fantasy value, when healthy, at this point in his career.

Camby sits out 11th straight game

News: Knicks center Marcus Camby was ruled out yet again for Sunday's contest against the Timberwolves as he continues to deal with plantar fasciitis in his left foot. He has now missed 11 games with the injury.
Analysis: Camby was able to shoot around a bit prior to Sunday's game, which is an encouraging sign, but is still not healthy enough to return. He had originally targeted last Friday as his possible return date, but has now missed two games since. We'll continue to keep an eye on his progress moving forward. The veteran wasn't seeing many minutes even when healthy earlier in the year, so owners shouldn't pay much attention to Camby at this point.

Camby ruled out vs. Bulls

News: Knicks center Marcus Camby was ruled out for Friday's contest against the Bulls as he continues to be bothered by plantar fasciitis in his left foot. Camby has mow missed 10 straight games with his ailment.
Analysis: Camby was hoping to return to action Friday night after receiving a cortisone injection Tuesday, but he is in too much discomfort. The veteran wasn't seeing many minutes even when healthy earlier in the year, so owners shouldn't pay much attention to Camby at this point.

Camby intends to play Friday

News: Knicks center Marcus Camby is expected to receive a cortisone injection in his ailing left foot Tuesday and is targeting Friday's game against Chicago for his return to the court, the New York Post reports. Camby has missed the past nine games with plantar fasciitis and will also be sidelined for Wednesday's contest against Brooklyn.
Analysis: Camby, who has yet to participate in a full practice since going down with the injury Nov. 26, wasn't receiving much playing time when healthy. He surpassed 10 minutes in just two games and was regularly a healthy inactive. At this point, Camby is not worth a roster spot in any Fantasy formats.
