*All stats heading into play Saturday
Atlanta Hawks
Schedule: Dec. 9 @HOU; Dec. 10 @SA; Dec. 12 @MIA; Dec. 13 vs. CLE
Injury Report: Speedy Claxton (hamstring/out indefinitely)
Slam Dunk: Joe Johnson, Al Horford, Mike Bibby, Josh Smith
Tough Call: The Hawks may have a four-game slate this week, but all four games are against tough defensive squads. Houston, San Antonio and Cleveland all rank among the top-five defensive teams in the NBA going into the weekend, each allowing under 93 points per game. In average-based leagues, this is not the best week to go with a scoring-only option like Ronald Murray. Marvin Williams is still a solid start in most formats this week, though the return of Josh Smith and the tough defensive matchups pose a bit of a threat to his scoring production.
One Week Bust: Marvin Williams
Boston Celtics
Schedule: Dec. 11 @WAS; Dec. 12 vs. NO
Injury Report: Tony Allen (questionable/day-to-day); No Fantasy relevance.
Slam Dunk: None
Tough Call: All the Celtics, even the big three, are tough starts this week in cumulative scoring formats due to the two-game schedule. In average-based leagues, start your C's as normal with the one game against Washington likely a guarantee for triple-digit scoring to be destributed among the usual suspects. Rajon Rondo and Kendrick Perkins have been seeing an increase in scoring of late and they make solid starts in average leagues, but not cumulative formats.
One Week Bust: Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen
Charlotte Bobcats
Schedule: Dec. 8 @MIA; Dec. 10@NO; Dec. 11 @DAL; Dec. 13 vs. DET
Injury Report: None
Slam Dunk: Gerald Wallace, Emeka Okafor, Jason Richardson
Tough Call: Much like the Hawks, the Bobcats have a four-game week littered with tough defensive matchups. That means That Fantasy owners should not expect much scoring from the likes of Raymond Felton and struggling big man Emeka Okafor. If the Bobcats don't crack 100 points against Miami to start the week, they may not all scoring period long. Augustin should be reserved in most average-based leagues as a player who does little outside of scoring.
One Week Bust: Raymond Felton

Chicago Bulls
Schedule: Dec. 9 vs. NY; Dec. @MEM; Dec. 13 vs. NJ
Injury Report: Kirk Hinrich (thumb/out until February); Michael Ruffin (ankle/out indefinitely); Neither player is close to making a Fantasy impact.
Slam Dunk: Derrick Rose
Tough Call: The Bulls are the opposite of the Hawks and Bobcats this week. Their matchups are great all week, but they have just the three games. For cumulative leagues, this makes some of their options (like Ben Gordon) worth starting despite a less than full slate. In average-based leagues, expect numbers to be up against three teams that average allowing 100 points or more per game. The Nets and Knicks give up 104.5 points and 109.0 points per game respectively. Drew Gooden is worth taking a chance on as your No. 2 center in leagues where he is eligible at the position as a result. Luol Deng is worth starting despite his recent numbers. Andres Nocioni, Joakim Noah and Tyrus Thomas are still too erratic to trust.
One Week Boom: Ben Gordon
Cleveland Cavaliers
Schedule: Dec. 9 vs. TOR; Dec. 10 @PHI; Dec. 12 vs. PHI; Dec. 13 @ATL
Injury Report: None
Slam Dunk: LeBron James, Zydrunas Ilgauskas
Tough Call: Mo Williams should be viewed as a No. 3 or 4 option this week. His assists, as expected, have come down with LeBron James handling the ball so much in Cleveland. However, he should accumulate around 50 points, 15-20 assists, 10-15 rebounds over the course of the week, averaging somewhere around a 13-4-3 line. Delonte West should be around 11-4-4 over the course of a four-game week. Anderson Varejao has some low-end appeal in larger leagues.
One Week Boom: Delonte West
Dallas Mavericks
Schedule: Dec. 9 vs. SA; Dec. 11 vs. CHA; Dec. 13 vs. OKC
Injury Report: Josh Howard (ankle/day-to-day); Antoine Wright (groin/day-to-day); Jerry Stackhouse (heel/out indefinitely); Howard appears close to a return and should be back this weekend, making him a safe start for the upcoming scoring period. Monitor his progress over the weekend. Wright has been in the starting lineup, but has not put up good numbers. Stackhouse is on the inactive list and likely will be until he gets traded to another team. He is unhappy with his current role.
Slam Dunk: Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Kidd
Tough Call: In a shortened week, that features a tough matchup against rival San Antonio (fifth fewest points allowed per game in the NBA) and another against Charlotte (fourth fewest points allowed per game in the NBA), Jason Terry could hit a bit of a snag. Considering that he does not offer much outside of scoring while playing a shooting guard role these days, Fantasy owners should not count on him being a lock to play this week. He'll find it hard to crack 20-plus points like he has been doing during the very productive run he has been on. View him as more of a No. 3 or 4 option for this one week. Erick Dampier is not a recommended option despite his recent rebounding efforts against Sacramento and Phoenix. Jose Juan Barea will return to the bench once Howard returns, making him someone to avoid starting this week.
One Week Bust: Jason Terry
Denver Nuggets
Schedule: Dec. 10 vs. MIN; Dec. 13 vs. GS
Injury Report: Steven Hunter (knee/could miss entire season); No Fantasy relevance.
Slam Dunk: None
Tough Call: This is one of those situations where it depends what type of league you are in. In cumulative leagues, even Carmelo Anthony is a gamble this week due to the two-game scoring period. 'Melo and Chauncey Billups are the only players worth considering in those formats. As always, weigh your options. Anthony will offer around 40 points, 15-20 rebounds and 5-8 assists for the week. Billups should be around 35 points, 15 assists five rebounds and two steals. Only replace them with players who are guaranteed to total more than that over the course of the week. In average based leagues, though, the Nuggets are fair game. They have two very favorable matchups against two teams that allow 100-plus points per game, including a Warriors team that allows the most points in the NBA, so players like Kenyon Martin, Nene and J.R. Smith are fair game in all average-based leagues.
One Week Boom: Kenyon Martin
Detroit Pistons
Schedule: Dec. 9 @WAS; Dec. 12 vs. IND; Dec. 13 @CHA
Injury Report: None
Slam Dunk: Allen Iverson
Tough Call: The Pistons have two good matchups against weak defensive teams in Washington and at home against Indiana, but they play just three games and finish up against a Bobcats team that has allowed just 92.5 points per game this season. View Rasheed Wallace as a decent play, but do not hesitate to sub in a similar option with four games. The same goes for Tayshaun Prince and Richard Hamilton. Consi Rodney Stuckey as a low-end starter in average-based leagues, but not cumulative leagues.
One Week Boom: Richard Hamilton

Golden State Warriors
Schedule: Dec. 8 @OKC; Dec. 10 vs. MIL; Dec. 12 vs. HOU; Dec. 13 @DEN
Injury Report: Monta Ellis (suspension, ankle/out until at least late December); Kelenna Azubuike (foot/day-to-day); Azubuike may not return for a few games and will be too risky to play in most leagues if he does not return over the weekend. His production has been spotty, though, since Jamal Crawford's arrival so he's definitely not the type who is worthy of such a risk.
Slam Dunk: Andris Biedrins, Jamal Crawford, Corey Maggette
Tough Call: When the Warriors have a four-game scoring period, it's always a good thing in Fantasy. Stephen Jackson has been a bit slow since coming back from his wrist injury, but this four-game week should be plenty productive for him and Fantasy owners should get him back active. Aside from the team's big Fantasy four, though, it's slim pickings for the Warriors until Ellis gets back.
One Week Boom: Stephen Jackson
Houston Rockets
Schedule: Dec. 8 @MEM; Dec. 9 vs. ATL; Dec. 12 @GS; Dec. @LAC
Injury Report: Tracy McGrady (knee/out until late December); Brent Barry (leg/out until mid-December); Steve Francis (knee/out indefinitely); T-Mac is out at least another couple of weeks. Barry and Francis should not be owned in Fantasy at the moment.
Slam Dunk: Yao Ming, Ron Artest
Tough Call: The Rockets have a very favorable four-game slate this week with three matchups against teams that allow 100-plus points. The Rockets could be around 400 total points this week. This makes fringe players like Luis Scola a good option as No. 3 forward. Rafer Alston has stepped up his play with Tracy McGrady out and should be active in most formats for this very favorable week. Aaron Brooks and Luther Head are sharing an increased role with McGrady out and can be considered decent one-week stopgaps in deep formats in a pinch. Shane Battier is still a bit of a reach.
One Week Boom: Rafer Alston
Indiana Pacers
Schedule: Dec. 10 @TOR; Dec. 12 @DET; Dec. 13 @MIL
Injury Report: Mike Dunleavy (knee/out until at least mid-December); Dunleavy is still not practicing and it will take him at least a week of practice before he can get back into a game. Then, it will likely take him a littler longer to get back into game shape. He is not yet a player to be activated in Fantasy.
Slam Dunk: Danny Granger
Tough Calls: Troy Murphy has been playing well enough of late to be used even on three-game weeks in larger cumulative leagues. In leagues where he is eligible at center, he's a solid start. T.J. Ford has been up-and-down lately, but remains a solid option as a No. 4 guard. He is averaging a 14-6-4 line over his last five games. Marquis Daniels is an option for deeper cumulative formats and average-based leagues. Leave Jeff Foster and Rasho Nesterovic reserved in most leagues.
One Week Bust: Marquis Daniels
Los Angeles Clippers
Schedule: Dec. 8 vs. ORL; Dec. 12 @POR; Dec. 13 @HOU
Injury Report: Chris Kaman (foot/out until mid-December); Ricky Davis (knee/day-to-day); Kaman is dealing with a slight tear in the arch of his left foot and he was originally said to be out 1-2 weeks. He's coming up on a week now and there is still no word on his return. Fantasy owners should monitor his status up until lineups are due, but don't count on starting him this week. In any case, it is a short week with tough matchups against Orlando and Houston. Even if he is healthy, it is not a bad idea to reserve him until he can prove healthy and productive again.
Slam Dunk: Baron Davis, Zach Randolph
Tough Call: Considering Kaman's situation, Camby seems like a solid start for at least this one more week. He has been playing his best basketball of the season without having to split playing time with Kaman and would likely end up playing significant minutes even if Kaman returns during the week as he is not going to be 100 percent. Al Thornton has also benefited from Kaman's absence and should continue to get around 145 shots per game. Consider him a solid start as at the very least a No. 4 option even in cumulative leagues. Rookie Eric Gordon has hit the skids after a strong beginning to his career as a starter. Stash him for now.
One Week Boom: Marcus Camby
Los Angeles Lakers
Schedule: Dec. 9 @SAC; Dec. 10 vs. PHO; Dec. 12 vs. SAC; Dec. 14 vs. MIN
Injury Report: None
Slam Dunk: Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum
Tough Call: The Lakers face one of the more favorable schedules in the league this week thanks to a home-and-away with the Kings, who allow 105.1 points per game. The Suns and Timberwolves also allow over 100 points per game, so this should be a very fruitful week for the Lakers all around. Points will be up, which means shot attempts, assists and rebounds will be up across the board. If it's a toss-up between one of your Lakers and someone else, odds are you should go with the Laker. Mike Conley's numbers remain underwhelming and he should be viewed as an injury-replacement in cumulative leagues only for now.
One Week Boom: Derek Fisher
Memphis Grizzlies
Schedule: Dec. 8 vs. HOU; Dec. 10 @OKC; Dec. 12 vs. CHI; Dec. 14 vs. MIA
Injury Report: None
Slam Dunk: Rudy Gay, O.J. Mayo
Tough Call: Marc Gasol has struggled over the last week, but Fantasy owners in cumulative scoring leagues can think of him as a decent option as a No. 2 center because of the four-game scoring period. He has double-digit scoring ability and is also an adequate rebounder and if he is due to get out of his slump any time now. Hakim Warrick has shown some signs of a resurgence lately, but it is not enough to consider him a reliable starter this week even with the four games. Start him at your own risk. Darrell Arthur, Kyle Lowry and Darko Milicic should be kept reserved.
One Week Boom: Marc Gasol
Miami Heat
Schedule: Dec. 8 vs. CHA; Dec. 12 vs. ATL; Dec. 14 @MEM
Injury Report: Chris Quinn (ankle/day-to-day); Dorell Wright (knee/out until at least late December); James Jones (wrist/out until at least mid-January); No Fantasy relevance.
Slam Dunk: Dwyane Wade; Shawn Marion
Tough Call: Michael Beasley has not been quite as productive as he was earlier in the season and the three-game week makes him tough to start in cumulative scoring leagues. His 12.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 0.2 assists over his last five games makes him a tough sell in average-based leagues as well. Save Udonis Haslem and Mario Chalmers for four-game weeks in cumulative leagues or weeks with better matchups in average-based formats.
One Week Bust: Michael Beasley
Milwaukee Bucks
Schedule: Dec. 9 @PHO; Dec. 10 @GS; Dec. 13 vs. IND
Injury Report: Charlie Bell (ankle/day-to-day); With Michael Redd back in the lineup, Bell returns to the bench and should not be activated in most Fantasy leagues.
Slam Dunk: Michael Redd, Richard Jefferson
Tough Call: Andrew Bogut had a double-double in Friday's game in Charlotte and appears to be recovered from his knee injury. Get him back in the active lineup even in cumulative leagues despite the three-game scoring period. As anticipated, Ramon Sessiopns has seen his numbers decline with the return of Michael Redd. With just five points combined over his last two games, he is not worth starting right now. Luke Ridnour has retained his Fantasy value, however, and is playing 30-plus minutes as the starting point guard. He is worth activating in average-based leagues, but is a low-end option in cumulative formats due to the three-game week. Avoid Charlie Villanueva if you have steady alternatives. He continues to be erratic. The Luc Richard Mbah a Moute train appears to have been derailed for now. The three matchups are very favorable with three games against opponents that allow 100-plus points per game, including one against the Warriors (111.4 points).
One Week Boom: Andrew Bogut
Minnesota Timberwolves
Schedule: Dec. 9 vs. UTA; Dec. 10 @DEN; Dec. 12 vs. SA; Dec. 14 @LAL
Injury Report: Mike Miller (ankle/day-to-day); Corey Brewer (knee/out for the season); Miller missed two games, including Saturday night's tilt, to rest the ankle. Miller is no guarantee to return for the team's next game on Tuesday and could miss another couple of games, making him a tough start this week.
Slam Dunk: Al Jefferson
Tough Call: Randy Foye came into the weekend with 20-plus points in three of his previous four games. In a four-game week, get him active in all cumulative formats. He's a solid start in average-based leagues as well. Kevin Love is averaging a double-double over his last five games and is worth activating -- especially where he's eligible at center. Rashad McCants is scoring in double figures again and is a decent stopgap option this week off the waiver wire for cumulative-scoring leagues. Ryan Gomes is not producing enough right now to consider starting.
One Week Boom: Kevin Love
New Jersey Nets
Schedule: Dec. 10 vs. NY; Dec. 12 vs. TOR; Dec. 13 @CHI
Injury Report: Josh Boone (ankle/day-to-day); Eduardo Najera (ankle/out indefinitely); Boone is hoping to return mid-week, but is not a guarantee to come back since he has not yet returned to full activities in practice. With Brook Lopez playing so well, it really does not matter anyway.
Slam Dunk: Vince Carter, Devin Harris
Tough Call: The matchup against the Knicks should be very high-scoring, considering both teams allow over 103 points per game. That should mean a good start to the week for rookie Brook Lopez, making him a great start as a No. 2 center in average-based leagues. Yi Jianlian remains too erratic to trust in most leagues.
One Week Boom: Brook Lopez
New Orleans Hornets
Schedule: Dec. 10 vs. CHA; Dec. 12 @BOS; Dec. 14 @TOR
Injury Report: None
Slam Dunk: Chris Paul, David West
Tough Call: Tyson Chandler's slow start continues to frustrate Fantasy owners. A three-game week that features matchups against tough defensive teams with good front courts make this another week to stray away from him. Peja Stojakovic is a streaky player and is on a hot streak at the moment. He had point 20-plus points in back-to-back games going into Saturday and is a very solid start, no matter the matchups.
One Week Bust: Tyson Chandler
New York Knicks
Schedule: Dec. 9 @CHI; Dec. 10@NJ; Dec. 13 @SAC
Injury Report: Nate Robinson (groin/day-to-day); Jared Jeffries (leg/day-to-day); Cuttino Mobley (heart/out indefinitely); Danilo Gallinari (back/out indefinitely); Eddy Curry (knee/out indefinitely); Robinson is not fully recovered from his groin injury despite returning on Friday. He is expected to miss Sunday's game and is going to be too much of an injury risk to activate this week. Jared Jeffries also returned from an injury only to leave the game and has yet to prove healthy or productive. Mobley may be forced to retire due to his heart condition. Gallinari and Curry may not get to play at all this season.
Slam Dunk: Al Harrington, David Lee
Tough Call: As expected, much of the Knicks roster has become useful in Fantasy thanks to the Mike D'Antoni style of play. Chris Duhon has turned into a very solid No. 3 Fantasy guard with a good combination of points and assists. Wilson Chandler has become a consistent scorer and decent rebounder. The matchups against New Jersey (103.4 points) and Sacramento (105.1 points) make up for this being a three-game week for them, but Tim Thomas and Quentin Richardson should be reserved in most formats this week.
One Week Boom: Chris Duhon
Oklahoma City Thunder
Schedule: Dec. 8 vs. GS; Dec. 10 vs. MEM; Dec. 13 @DAL; Dec. 14 @SA
Injury Report: Robert Swift (back/out indefinitely); D.J. White (jaw/out until February); No Fantasy relevance.
Slam Dunk: Kevin Durant
Tough Call: Jeff Green scored at least 18 points in three of his last four games going into Saturday. In a four-game week that features a matchup against Fantasy-friendly Golden State, he's a terrific start. Russell Westbrook continues to put up excellent scoring numbers and is averaging a very solid line, including boards and assists. Start him in any league. Nick Collison has fallen out of the mix, but Chris Wilcox is getting around 25 minutes per game for the team's new coaching staff. Think of Wilcox as a possible stopgap in deeper cumulative formats.
One Week Boom: Jeff Green, Russell Westbrook
Orlando Magic
Schedule: Dec. 8 @LAC; Dec. 9 @POR; Dec. 12 @PHO; Dec. 13 @UTA
Injury Report: Mickael Pietrus (thumb/out until at least mid-December); Mike Wilks (knee/out for the season); Pietrus is not expected to be back this week. J.J. Redick will continue to start in his place, but has not been very productive. Courtney Lee should continue to see an increased role, but is not a recommended option this week.
Slam Dunk: Dwight Howard, Rashard Lewis, Hedo Turkoglu
Tough Call: Jameer Nelson did not skip a beat, returning from his five-game absence with 15 points and seven assists Friday. It is safe to get him active again in any format. He was red-hot prior to getting hurt.
One Week Boom: Jameer Nelson
Philadelphia 76ers
Schedule: Dec. 10 vs. CLE; Dec. 12 @CLE; Dec. 13 vs. WAS
Injury Report: Elton Brand (hamstring/day-to-day); Jason Smith (knee/may miss entire season); Brand will be an injury risk for the upcoming scoring period, but the fact that the Sixers do not play until Wednesday is helpful. He will have missed two games and would have about a week to recover. He is certainly worth taking the gamble on.
Slam Dunk: Andre Iguodala, Andre Miller
Tough Call: Thaddeus Young has not been very steady with his outputs of late and a three-game week that features two tough matchups against Cleveland does not seem very promising. Samuel Dalembert has been no better than a No. 3 center so far this season. Keep him reserved.
One Week Bust: Thaddeus Young
Phoenix Suns
Schedule: Dec. 9 vs. MIL; Dec. 10 @LAL; Dec. 12 vs. ORL
Injury Report: Alando Tucker (knee/out until at least mid-December)
Slam Dunk: Amar'e Stoudemire, Steve Nash
Tough Call: Shaq has hit a bit of a slump lately, but does have double-double potential as long as he remains healthy and motivated. Continue to view him as a solid No. 2 center option. The Matt Barnes/Grant Hill combo continues to frustrate Fantasy owners, but Barnes is the only player worth considering in Fantasy. This week may not be the best to activate him in cumulative formats, though. Leandro Barbosa has been great one game and poor the next. Consider him a decent low-end starter in larger formats. Raja Bell is not worth starting right now.
One Week Bust: Matt Barnes

Schedule: Dec. 9 vs. ORL; Dec. 11 @UTA; Dec. 12 vs. LAC
Injury Report: Raef LaFrentz (shoulder/out indefinitely); No Fantasy relevance.
Slam Dunk: Brandon Roy, LaMarcus Aldridge
Tough Call: Greg Oden is not producing consistently and has been bad more often than good of late. Leave him reserved, especially for this three-game week. Steve Blake is a decent play as a low-end starter in average-based leagues, but should be reserved in most cumulative formats due to the three-game week. Travis Outlaw has been too inconsistent lately to trust. Rudy Fernandez is not particularly hot right now and should be avoided, but should be kept stashed on Fantasy benches and not cut.
One Week Bust: Greg Oden
Sacramento Kings
Schedule: Dec. 9 vs. LAL; Dec. 12 @LAL; Dec. 13 vs. NY
Injury Report: John Salmons (thigh/day-to-day); Salmons was expected back this weekend and should be a safe play for the upcoming scoring period.
Slam Dunk: Kevin Martin
Tough Call: Beno Udrih and Spencer Hawes are decent plays in larger average-based leagues considering the matchup against the Knicks. In cumulative-based leagues, most Kings players should be avoided this week with two tough matchups against the Lakers to deal with.
One Week Bust: Brad Miller
San Antonio Spurs
Schedule: Dec. 9 @ DAL; Dec. 10 vs. ATL; Dec. 12 @MIN; Dec. 14 vs. OKC
Injury Report: None
Slam Dunk: Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili
Tough Call: With the big three back together and healthy, George Hill and Roger Mason have seen their production decline. They can each still crack double figures from time to time, but should be kept off active lineups even for this four-game scoring period.
One Week Bust: George Hill, Roger Mason
Toronto Raptors
Schedule: Dec. 9 @CLE; Dec. 10 vs. IND; Dec. 12 @NJ; Dec. 14 vs. NO
Injury Report: Nathan Jawai (heart/out indefinitely); No Fantasy relevance.
Slam Dunk: Chris Bosh, Jose Calderon
Tough Call: Andrea Bargnani is back to being a spotty Fantasy option after his solid run that began when he was inserted into the starting lineup at small forward. He is worth taking a shot on as an injury replacement in cumulative leagues where he is eligible at center, but is not a real comforting play right now. Jermaine O'Neal is back in the lineup and is a solid play in most leagues, especially where he is eligible at center as well. Joey Graham has remained productive even with O'Neal back, but he stands to lose playing time as O'Neal gets healthier.
One Week Boom: Jermaine O'Neal
Utah Jazz
Schedule: Dec. 9 @MIN; Dec. 11 vs. POR; Dec. 13 vs. ORL
Injury Report: Carlos Boozer (quadriceps/day-to-day); Kyrlo Fesenko (back/day-to-day); Jarron Collins (elbow/out until January); Boozer is "hoping" to return at some point during the week, but there seems to be no guarantee. Until there is, consider him a very risky play for the upcoming scoring period.
Slam Dunk: Deron Williams, Mehmet Okur
Tough Call: Paul Millsap's resent surge can be directly linked to the absence of Carlos Boozer. He had a similar run last season when Boozer was injured. With Boozer questionable to return this week and the fact he will likely be limited even when he does, it is possible to squeeze one more good scoring period out of him. Andrei Kirilenko is a solid start in average-based leagues, but starting him in cumulative formats depends on your options. Ronnie Brewer should be avoided outside of deeper head-to-head formats.
One Week Boom: Paul Millsap
Washington Wizards
Schedule: Dec. 9 vs. DET; Dec. 11 vs. BOS; Dec. 13 @PHI
Injury Report: Gilbert Arenas (knee/out until January); Brendan Haywood (wrist/out until April); Neither player is close to making a Fantasy impact.
Slam Dunk: Caron Butler, Antawn Jamison
Tough Call: Andray Blatche has been playing well over the last week, but remains a bit of a gamble in Fantasy. As a forward, he should be considered merely an injury replacement. JeVale McGee has seen his production fall off of late. Keep him reserved. DeShawn Stevenson and Nick Young should also be reserved for now.
One Week Bust: Andray Blatche
