If you know what position you will be drafting from, follow this mock from that perspective so you'll have a better idea of what to expect come Draft Day. You will have a better idea where to target certain players and you won't be the player in your draft who panics and makes bad moves.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the participants in the draft. We've got a stout cast of Fantasy writers involved as well as our Editorial Director, Peter Madden, our video host, Lauren Shehadi and our NBA Fantasy product manager, Corey Guerrera. For this draft, we were lucky enough to have CBSSports.com NBA columnist Ken Berger involved. We hope to have him involved this season with Fantasy hoops, so make sure to look out for tidbits from a real NBA insider all year long.

As we do mock drafts this preseason, I'll be breaking it down in my blog, so be sure to check it out to get a better idea of the reasoning behind some of these picks.

Derrick Rose
Nothing structurally wrong with Rose
Derrick Rose, PG, CHI
5:44 PM
News: Bulls PG Derrick Rose visited a back specialist on Monday and the doctor confirmed the original diagnosis, reports the Chicago Tribune. Rose is dealing with lower back spasms and nothing greater. There is nothing structurally wrong with his back. Rose is considered day to day going forward for the Bulls.
Analysis: Rose has already missed consecutive games and Tuesday's contest against the Kings is also greatly in doubt at this point. It is definitely good news that Rose doesn't have anything worse wrong with him, but this has already been nagging and annoying enough to bother both the guard and his Fantasy owners. Rose has already missed seven games this season with an eighth a real possibility. Still, you know he'll play if it is humanly possible and that counts for something. Rose remains a must-start Fantasy option and he shouldn't miss too much more time following his visit to the doctor.

Zach Randolph
Randolph cleared for non-contact drills
Zach Randolph, PF, MEM
5:22 PM
News: Grizzlies F Zach Randolph (knee) has been cleared to participate in non-contact basketball drills, reports the Memphis Commercial-Appeal. Randolph, who tore his MCL back in January, is expected to return sometime in March. He is expected to be cleared for full-contact drills sometime over the next two weeks.
Analysis: Randolph continues to make significant progress from his knee injury and is on schedule to return in March, barring any setbacks. Obviously, Fantasy owners should keep a close eye on his progress moving forward to see when he will be able to get back on the court. Randolph can be considered a high-end Fantasy F, when healthy, so continue to stash him moving forward.

Kyrie Irving
Irving possible for Wednesday
Kyrie Irving, PG, CLE
2:47 PM
News: Cleveland G Kyrie Irving (concussion) participated in all non-contract drills during Monday's practice, but has yet to be cleared to return to game action, according to the Akron Beacon Journal. Irving has missed the past two games after being diagnosed with a concussion last Wednesday. With the Cavaliers' next game on Wednesday, he could be cleared for the outing with a positive showing in Tuesday's practice. "To me, he seems normal," Cleveland F Antawn Jamison said. "He's not going to be on the court unless he is 100 percent."
Analysis: Irving has now completed two straight days of light workouts as he continues to nurse his head injury. It appears he could be poised for a return on Wednesday, the first of only three games for Cleveland during Fantasy Week 8 (Feb. 13-19). Irving leads all rookies with 18.0 points per game this season and is also averaging 5.1 assists through 23 games. With his status still uncertain, he is a risky Fantasy option this scoring period.

Amar'e Stoudemire
Stoudemire shifts focus to court
Amar'e Stoudemire, PF, NY
12:09 PM
News: New York F Amar'e Stoudemire returned to practice Monday after spending the past week in Florida to mourn the death of his brother, according to Newsday. Stoudemire is expected to play in Tuesday's game at Toronto. "It feels good to be back on the basketball court," Stoudemire said. "I've been away for about a week now, so it feels good to be back." He is averaging 18.2 points and 8.1 rebounds per game this season.
Analysis: Stoudemire returns to the team at an interesting time as G Jeremy Lin has created tremendous buzz with his sterling production while Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony have been sidelined. But Stoudemire could benefit from Lin's pick-and-roll ability and improve on his average of 7.0 field goals a game -- his lowest total since his rookie season (minimum 10 games). Consider Stoudemire a must-start in all Fantasy formats.

Raymond Felton
Felton remains starter -- for now
Raymond Felton, PG, POR
4:24 PM
News: Portland coach Nate McMillan said Monday that Blazers G Raymond Felton will remain in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against Washington, according to The Oregonian. McMillan said over the weekend he was considering a shakeup to the starting lineup with G Jamal Crawford possibly replacing Felton. However, he changed his tune Monday. "I think he's the best guy at that position," McMillan said of Felton.
Analysis: Felton has been struggling recently and is averaging just 10.5 points over his past five games. He has been plagued by inconsistency throughout the season and posted more turnovers (three) than assists (two) during Portland's loss to Dallas on Saturday. Fantasy owners should expect a decrease in playing time for Felton as Crawford could receive more minutes. Consider Felton a low-end No. 2 Fantasy G for Week 8 (Feb. 13-19).

Jamal Crawford
Crawford studies the PG position
Jamal Crawford, SG, POR
5:49 PM
News: Portland guard Jamal Crawford sat down and reviewed film with coach Nate McMillan to concentrate on point guard play on Monday, reports the Oregonian. McMillan has reiterated that he's sticking with starting PG Raymond Felton for the time being, however.
Analysis: Felton is slumping and a lot of people are suggesting he's nearing being replaced at the point by Crawford. While McMillan has been clear that isn't happening just yet, it doesn't mean Crawford won't get a boost in minutes in that spot. The coach did have Crawford reviewing tape and that wasn't for nothing. The 31-year-old Crawford is averaging 19.2 points, 5.8 assists and 1.8 3-pointers per night over his last five games while getting 35 minutes in those contests. Should he get even more responsibility, Crawford's Fantasy value would go through the roof. He can be active in many 10- and 12-team Fantasy formats already.

Joakim Noah
Noah playing at high level again
Joakim Noah, C, CHI
5:37 PM
News: Bulls C Joakim Noah scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds on Sunday at Boston. On Monday, ESPN.com reports Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau praised Noah and said his center is "back to where he was at [the beginning] of last season."
Analysis: Noah failed to record a double-double in what would have been his third consecutive game Sunday. Still, Noah is averaging 13.8 points and 10.8 rebounds per night over his last five. He's shooting 65 percent over that span with 2.4 assists per game as well. He should be active in just about all Fantasy formats at this time.

Kosta Koufos
Koufos getting on boards for Denver
Kosta Koufos, C, DEN
5:27 PM
News: Denver C Kosta Koufos has really improved his rebounding of late for the Nuggets. Koufos played 26 minutes in his last game on Saturday as he scored seven points on 3 of 4 shooting with seven rebounds. Koufos is averaging 7.4 rebounds per game over his last five. He's only averaging 4.6 rebounds per game on the season.
Analysis: Koufos has seen an overall increase in production of late with 8.0 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.4 blocks while shooting 63 percent from the field over his last five games. Playing more and sometimes starting with Timofey Mozgov and Chris Andersen injured, Koufos has become worthy of some Fantasy usage in the deepest formats. He's only currently owned in 9 percent of Fantasy leagues.

Nikola Pekovic
Pekovic keeps starting job
Nikola Pekovic, C, MIN
3:54 PM
News: According to the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Minnesota C Nikola Pekovic is expected to remain in the starting lineup when C Darko Milicic returns from an ankle injury. And Milicic is a supporter of the move. "He deserves to play," said Milicic, who is likely to return for Monday's game against Orlando. "He's playing in a great rhythm right now. I'm happy for him." Milicic has missed the Timberwolves' past four games.
Analysis: With Milicic sidelined, Pekovic has become a dominant scorer and provided Minnesota another strong low-post option with F Kevin Love. He is averaging 17.3 points and 9.8 rebounds over his past six games -- five of them with Milicic out -- while shooting a sterling 67.6 percent from the field. Fantasy owners should continue to add Pekovic in all formats and consider him a solid start heading into Week 8 (Feb. 13-19).

O.J. Mayo
Mayo misses all his shots
O.J. Mayo, SG, MEM
5:23 PM
News: Memphis guard O.J. Mayo had been playing with some semblance of consistency until his latest performance on Sunday against Utah. Mayo saw 23 minutes in that contest as he went 0 for 3 from the field and scored just two points on free throws. Mayo added one rebound, two assists and two blocks in that performance.
Analysis: Mayo scored in double figures in three of the four prior performances but had an ugly night all around against the Jazz. Mayo has a scoring average of 12.0 points per game for the year with 1.3 3-pointers and 3.2 rebounds. That is OK production, though Mayo is only at 9.8 points, 1.0 3-pointers and 3.8 rebounds over his last five. Not playing all that well right now, Mayo should only be actively used in deeper Fantasy formats.
