Nets expect Kevin Garnett to play Friday at Cleveland

(11:35 am ET) Nets coach Lionel Hollins told reporters forward Kevin Garnett will play Friday at Cleveland, reports the New York Post.

Citing rest, Garnett did not play during Wednesday’s loss to the Raptors.

The Nets are 11 ½ point underdogs to the Cavaliers Friday.


Report: Cavaliers' Mike Miller to be activated Friday vs. Nets

(11:06 am ET) The Cavaliers are anticipating forward Mike Miller being able to play Friday against the Nets, reports the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Miller has missed the last seven games while dealing with a concussion. In 13 games, Miller is averaging a career-low 1.5 points and 2.1 rebounds.


Report: Mavericks confident they can re-sign Rajon Rondo

(10:59 am ET) With guard Rajon Rondo set to become a free agent after the season, sources indicated the Mavericks are confident they can re-sign Rondo, reports ESPN.

The Mavericks traded for Rondo Thursday, but whether Rondo remains in Dallas beyond this season has yet to be determined.


Hornets guard Lance Stephenson to miss next two games

(10:49 am ET) The Hornets announced guard Lance Stephenson did not travel with the team to Philadelphia and will not play Friday at Philadelphia and Saturday against the Jazz.

Stephenson is dealing with a pelvis sprain. His next opportunity to play will be Monday against the Nuggets. In 25 games, Stephenson is averaging 10.2 points and 4.8 assists.

Guard Gary Neal is listed as Stephenson’s top backup and is averaging 12.2 points and 2.6 rebounds through 19 games. 

The Hornets are favored by 4 ½ points over the 76ers Friday.


Report: Mavericks eyeing Emeka Okafor, Jermaine O'Neal

(10:37 am ET) Looking to replace recently traded center Brandan Wright, the Mavericks are targeting centers Jermaine O’Neal and Emeka Okafor, reports ESPN Dallas.

Wright was the first backup to center Tyson Chandler with Greg Smith also under consideration to fill Wright’s previous role.

Okafor has not played since 2012-13 while recovering from a herniated desk in his neck. O’Neal played for the Warriors last season and averaged 7.9 points and 5.5 rebounds.


Kings center DeMarcus Cousins does not want minutes restricted

(10:25 am ET) After missing 10 games while dealing with viral meningitis, Kings center DeMarcus Cousins told reporters he does not his minutes limited, reports News 10 Sacramento.

Cousins returned Thursday and scored 27 points along with 11 rebounds and five assists. During his first game back, Cousins was able to play the entire fourth quarter and logged 33 minutes.

The Kings next play Sunday against the Lakers.


Report: Hawks assign Mike Muscala to NBADL

(9:46 am ET) Hawks forward Mike Muscala has been assigned to the NBA Development League Friday, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

In eight games for the Hawks, Muscala is averaging 4.9 points and 2.4 rebounds.


Report: Wizards' Paul Pierce hoping to play Friday at Miami

(9:38 am ET) Despite dealing with a toe injury, Wizards forward Paul Pierce is hopeful of playing Friday at Miami, reports the Associated Press.

Pierce missed Tuesday’s win against Minnesota, but his official playing status for Friday’s game has yet to be determined.

Forward Otto Porter replaced Pierce in the starting lineup Tuesday and scored 10 points and grabbed five rebounds.

The Wizards are 4-point favorites over the Heat Friday.


Thunder SG Andre Roberson doubles up vs. Warriors

(1:23 am ET) Thunder shooting guard Andre Roberson scored a career-high 10 points on 4 of 8 shooting while racking up a career-high 12 rebounds in his team's 114-109 loss to the Warriors Thursday.

Roberson played 34 minutes Thursday, his highest amount of playing time since missing two weeks in November with a foot injury. He managed to deliver his first career double-double Thursday despite not coming into the game with any double-digit performances in points or rebounds. He also managed three assists and one steal in the loss, which ended the team's seven-game winning streak. The Thunder will move on to face the Lakers Friday.


Thunder PG Russell Westbrook scores team-high 33 vs. Warriors

(1:17 am ET) Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook scored a team-high 33 points on 11 of 30 shooting, including 3 of 10 shooting from behind the arc, in his team's 114-109 loss to the Warriors Thursday.

Westbrook was tasked with filling the role of top scorer after Kevin Durant went down with an ankle injury in the first half. He responded by setting a season high in field-goal attempts while posting his third 30-point performance in the last four games. The point guard also tallied eight assists, three rebounds and two steals in 40 minutes but turned the ball over six times. The Thunder will square off with the Lakers Friday.
