Jimmy Butler leaves Bulls game after hurting elbow

(2:48 pm ET) Bulls SG Jimmy Butler left Sunday's game against the Clippers with an elbow injury. 

Butler ran into the Clippers' DeAndre Jordan, who was setting a screen, and suffered a left-elbow sprain. 

Butler was taken back into the locker room. After originally being listed as questionable, the Bulls later announced that he wouldn't return to the game. 


Report: Grizzlies signing JaMychal Green to 3-year deal

(2:32 pm ET) JaMychal Green finished his second 10-day contract with the Grizzlies on Saturday, and the team is signing him to a three-year contract, according to a report by RealGM, citing league sources. 

Green is averaging two points and 1.3 rebounds in four games with the Grizzles. 


Blatt: Kyrie Irving will play for Cavaliers on Tuesday

(2:16 pm ET) Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving has missed the last two games with a shoulder strain.

Coach David Blatt said that Irving would return Tuesday against the Celtics.  

Irving is averaging 21.7 points and 5.2 assists this season. 


Report: 76ers considering buyout of JaVale McGee

(1:41 pm ET) The deadline for players to sign with a team and be eligible for the playoffs is midnight on Monday morning. 

According to ESPN's Marc Stein, the 76ers are considering buying out JaVale McGee so he can sign with a contender. 

The Sixers acquired McGee in a trade with the Nuggets at the NBA's trade deadline last week. At the time, he said he wasn't interested in a buyout. 


LeBron James expected to play for Cavaliers on Sunday

(12:32 pm ET) LeBron James sat out Friday's game, but the Cavaliers said the move was done to rest him. As a result, James is expected to play at the Rockets on Sunday. 

The game between the Cavs and Rockets is a pick-em. 


Hawks' Pero Antic hurts knee in collision

(12:16 pm ET) The Hawks originally said that PF Pero Antic sat out Saturday's game at the Heat to rest. However, the Atlanta Journal Constitution's Chris Vivlamore said Antic's knee was bothering him after a collision during Friday's game. 

The team hasn't updated Antic's status for the next game, against Houston on Tuesday.

 


Mavericks' Amar'e Stoudemire has no plans to retire

(12:09 pm ET) Mavericks' PF Amar'e Stoudemire is 32 and has battled injuries for several years, but he has no plans to retire. 

Stoudemire told the New York Post's Tim Bontemps that he'll keep playing as long as his body lets him continue.

“There’s no timeframe,” he said. “Depending on what my body tells me … I just listen to my body, and go from there.”


Hawks assign Mike Muscala to NBADL on Sunday

(11:30 am ET) The Hawks assigned Mike Muscala to the NBA Development League on Sunday, the team announced.

In 20 games, Muscala is averaging 3.6 points and 2.1 rebounds.


Bulls rule Taj Gibson out of Sunday's game; Pau Gasol to play

(11:23 am ET) Bulls forward Taj Gibson has been ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Clippers, reports ESPNChicago.com.

Gibson has been dealing with an ankle injury, which he injured during Friday's contest. Forward Tony Snell is expected to see his role increase with Gibson sidelined.

Meanwhile, forward Pau Gasol is dealing with an illness, but he has been cleared to play Sunday.

The Bulls are 1 1/2-point underdogs.


Hornets' Kemba Walker (knee) to be reevaluated Wednesday

(11:17 am ET) Hornets guard Kemba Walker said he will have his knee reevaluated Wednesday, reports The Charlotte Observer.

Wednesday will mark five weeks since Walker underwent surgery to repair a torn lateral meniscus in his left knee. He was originally projected to need six weeks to recover.

Walker said not being able to play has been difficult to deal with.

"It's miserable, very miserable," Walker said. "I'm just so used to playing all the time and never [being injured] makes it tougher. It's really tough. I hate it, to tell the truth."
