Rockets' Kostas Papanikolaou (ankle) ruled inactive Tuesday

(7:57 pm ET) Rockets forward Kostas Papanikolaou has been declared inactive for Tuesday's game at Atlanta, according to NBA.com

It is the fifth straight game Papanikolaou will miss because of sprained right ankle. In 41 games, Papanikolaou is averaging 4.4 points and 2.8 rebounds.


Report: Lakers to apply for hardship exception with Ronnie Price

(7:12 pm ET) The Lakers are reportedly planning to apply for a hardship exception given the injury to Ronnie Price, according to the L.A. Times.

If granted the exception, the team would be able to sign a 16th player to their active roster, but would still only have 11 players able to play. Five players, including Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, Julius Randle and Price are all out for the remainder of the season with injuries.


Cavs clear Kevin Love (illness) to play in Tuesday's game vs. Celtics

(7:01 pm ET) Despite dealing with an illness, Cavaliers forward Kevin Love has been cleared to play in Tuesday's game against the Celtics, reports foxsportsohio.com.

The illness forced Love to miss Tuesday's shootaround. In 58 games, Love is averaging 17.0 points and 10.2 rebounds.

The Cavaliers are 11-point favorites.


NBA fines Suns' Alex Len $20,000; Markieff Morris $15,000

(6:32 pm ET) The NBA fined Suns center Alex Len $20,000 for his role in an altercation during Monday's loss to the Heat, reports the Sun Sentinel.

Len and Heat center Hassan Whiteside were both ejected from the game after getting into the altercation. The NBA said Len was the instigator of the quarrel.

The NBA also fined forward Markieff Morris $15,000 for his Flagrant 2 foul on former teammate Goran Dragic. Morris was ejected from the game after a hard foul on Dragic.


Zach Randolph, Beno Udrih out for Monday's game with illness

(6:28 pm ET) Grizzlies forward Zach Randolph and guard Beno Udrih will miss Tuesday's game against the Jazz with illnesses, the team announced.

Randolph, who is averaging 16.5 points and 11.7 rebounds in 49 games, has not missed a game in the last two months. While Udrih, who is averaging 7.5 points and 2.9 assists in 56 games, has only missed two games this season.

The Grizzlies are currently 8 1/2-point favorites against the Jazz.


Heat's Hassan Whiteside avoids suspension, fined $15,000

(6:25 pm ET) Heat center Hassan Whiteside avoided a suspension for his role in an altercation during Monday's win over the Suns, but was fined $15,000, reports the Sun Sentinel.

During Tuesday's game, Whiteside was ejected after getting into an altercation with Suns center Alex Len. By avoiding a suspension, Whiteside will be available to play in Wednesday's game against the Lakers.

"I just basically said that I just felt like he was frustrated with as many dunks as I did on him," Whiteside said, per the Associated Press.


Kings' Darren Collison out at least six weeks following surgery Tuesday

(6:20 pm ET) Kings point guard Darren Collison is expected to miss at least six weeks following surgery Tuesday to repair a core muscle injury, the team announced.

Collision has been out for the past month after suffering the injury Feb. 5 against the Mavericks. He is averaging 16.1 points and 5.6 assists in 45 games this season.


Rockets' McHale impressed with Prigioni's basketball knowledge

(6:17 pm ET) Rockets coach Kevin McHale said Tuesday he has been impressed with guard Pablo Prigioni's basketball knowledge.

With Prigioni gaining more familiarity with the team's system, McHale said he expects Prigioni to receive more playing time during Tuesday's game at Atlanta. Prigioni has not played more than 20 minutes in a game since Jan. 7 when he was a member of the Knicks.

The Rockets are 8 1/2-point underdogs.


Grizzlies suspend guard Tony Allen for Tuesday against Jazz

(6:13 pm ET) The Grizzlies have suspended guard Tony Allen for Tuesday's game against the Jazz for an internal matter, according to Grizzlies reporter Chris Vernon.

The suspension is for an internal matter and Allen will rejoin the team Wednesday against the Rockets. He is averaging 8.1 points and 4.0 rebounds in 50 games this season.

The Grizzlies are currently 8 1/2-point favorites Tuesday.


Rockets' Corey Brewer to replace James Harden in lineup Tuesday

(6:09 pm ET) The Rockets announced forward Corey Brewer will start in place of James Harden for Tuesday's game at Atlanta.

Harden has been suspended for the game due to a groin kick during Sunday's contest against the Cavaliers. In 57 games, Brewer is averaging 11.3 points and 3.4 rebounds.
