Wizards forward DeJuan Blair out for Friday's game

(6:29 pm ET) Wizards power forward DeJuan Blair will miss Friday's game against the Hornets for personal reasons, the team announced before the game.

Blair, who is averaging 1.8 points and 1.9 rebounds per game, has been used sparingly by Washington this season, playing in just 25 games. The Wizards are currently 4-point favorites.


Heat forward Chris Andersen (calf) ruled out Friday

(6:28 pm ET) Heat forward Chris Andersen will not play Friday, the team announced, as he recovers from a left calf contusion. This will be the second straight game Andersen has missed with the injury. He is averaging 5.4 points and 5.1 rebounds in 53 games this season.  

Rockets F Donatas Motiejunas (back) out Friday

(6:11 pm ET) Forward Donatas Motiejunas, will miss Friday's Rockets game after injuring his lower back during shootaround, per the Houston Chronicle. The move leaves the Rockets short-handed in the frontcourt, a big reason why they called up Clint Capela earlier in the day. Rockets coach Kevin McHale said Josh Smith will start. 

Knicks guard Alexey Shved dealing with cracked rib

(6:04 pm ET) Knicks point guard Alexey Shved is nursing a cracked rib, which was originally believed to be bruised, according to coach Derek Fisher per the New York Post.

Shved, who was diagnosed with an incomplete fracture in his rib Wednesday, was speculated to have a bruise. He is expected to miss 2-to-3 weeks with the injury.


Knicks guard Tim Hardaway Jr. out for Friday and Saturday

(5:59 pm ET) Knicks guiard Tim Hardaway Jr. will not play Friday and is not expected to play on Saturday, according to coach Derek Fisher per the New York Post.

Hardaway Jr., who is dealing with a wrist injury, has missed the last six games for New York while nursing the injury. Hardaway Jr. is averaging 11.3 points and 2.2 rebounds per game.

The Knicks are currently 10-point underdogs Friday against the Celtics.


Mavericks forward Richard Jefferson out Friday

(5:47 pm ET) Mavericks forward Richard Jefferson, who said after shootaround Friday that he was going to try to play against the Spurs, has been ruled out of the game with back spasms, per KESN radio. Jefferson left Tuesday's game against the Spurs after just three minutes of action with the injury.

Hornets forward Cody Zeller out again Friday at the Wizards

(5:42 pm ET) Hornets forward Cody Zeller will miss Friday's game against the Wizards with a shoulder injury, reports the Charlotte Observer.

Zeller, who has missed the last three games with the injury, has played just one of the team's last eight games. He is averaging 7.6 points and 5.8 rebounds per game this season. 

The Hornets are currently 4-point underdogs against Washington.


Magic C DeWayne Dedmon (ankle) out Friday

(5:38 pm ET) Magic center DeWayne Dedmon will not play in Friday's game against the Pistons due to an ankle injury, per the Orlando Sentinel

Dedmon had recently returned to the Magic lineup Wednesday and played 26 minutes in his first action since missing three games with the same injury. 

In 51 games, he is averaging 3.5 points and 4.7 rebounds. 


Beal game-time decision for Wizards, Humphries out

(5:25 pm ET) Wizards guard Bradley Beal (ankle) will be a game-time decision for Friday's contest against the Hornets, while forward Kris Humphries (groin) will be out of the lineup once again, according to The Washington Post. 

Beal sprained his ankle in Wednesday's loss and was held out of Thursday's practice as a precaution. He did go through shootaround Friday but Wizards coach Randy Wittman said no decision would be made until shortly before tipoff. 

Humphries will miss his 15th straight contest. 


Hawks C Al Horford working way out of slump

(4:55 pm ET) Hawks center Al Horford has slowed down a bit from the All-Star pace he put up in the first half of the season, but feels confident that he can find his touch again, per the Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Horford was shooting more than 54 percent prior to the break, but in the second half of the season, his FG percentage has dipped down to 46.5 percent and seen his points average fall to 12.8 points. 

"The thing is, my shots have been feeling good," Horford said. "For some reason, they just aren’t going. I’m going to stay aggressive and do what I do. I know everything will be fine."
