(5:25 pm ET) Magic guard Devyn Marble is inactive for Thursday's game against the Bucks, according to the Orlando Sentinel

The club has opted to go with Ben Gordon in this game, which pushes Marble to the inactive list. Marble has played in 16 games this season, averaging 2.3 points.

(5:22 pm ET) Magic guard Ben Gordon is active for Thursday's game against the Bucks, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

Gordon did not play in the last two games, but will be active on Thursday. The 31-year-old is averaging 6.7 points and 1.2 rebounds per game. 


Trail Blazers' Nicolas Batum in danger of missing Friday's game

(5:18 pm ET) Trail Blazers forward Nicolas Batum isn't sure if he'll be able to play Friday against the Hawks, according to the Oregonian.

Batum is dealing with a wrist injury, though he was able to play through the issue on Wednesday. While things started out well, Batum's wrist got worse as the game went on. "It's really sore," Batum said after the game. "The first half was OK. But it was sore in second half. I just tried to play through it." When asked whether he would be available for Friday's game, Batum told reporters he didn't know yet.

Batum is averaging 9.1 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.


Steve Nash to mentor young Lakers

(5:13 pm ET) Lakers guard Steve Nash will be around to mentor the team's young players, according to ESPN.

Since being ruled out for the season, Nash hasn't been a presence with the club. When asked about the situation, coach Byron Scott indicated that he's had a hard time getting in touch with Nash. That hasn't been a problem for Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak, though. 

"He’s around," Kupchak said. "He will work with some of our players. He may have already started doing that. He’s not going to go out and advertise [but] he’s doing it. ... As the season progresses, he’ll be more engaged." 

The 40-year-old Nash was limited to just 15 games last season due to various injuries. 


Clippers list J.J. Redick as questionable at New Orleans

(5:04 pm ET) Clippers guard J.J. Redick is listed as questionable for Friday's game at New Orleans, reports the Los Angeles Times.

A back issue caused Redick to miss Wednesday's win over the Jazz. In 45 games, Redick is averaging 14.9 points and 1.6 assists.


Warriors don't plan to rest guard Stephen Curry

(4:12 pm ET) With the Warriors playing 12 of their next 15 games on the road, resting guard Stephen Curry could be an option, but coach Steve Kerr told reporters Thursday he has no plans to rest Curry, reports the Bay Area News Group.

Curry has played in all 43 games this season and is averaging 33.1 minutes per game.


Jazz forward Gordon Hayward expected to play Friday

(3:22 pm ET) Jazz forward Gordon Hayward was not able to attend Thursday's practice due to sinus congestion. However, the team expects him to play in Friday's game against Golden State.

Hayward has played in all 46 games this season. He averages 19.0 points and 4.7 rebounds.


Warriors expect Andrew Bogut to play Friday at Utah

(3:06 pm ET) Warriors coach Steve Kerr told reporters center Andrew Bogut was able to practice Thursday and will play in Friday’s game at Utah, reports The San Francisco Chronicle.

Bogut missed Tuesday's loss to the Bulls while dealing with an illness. In 29 games, he is averaging 6.8 points and 8.7 rebounds.


Nets rule guard Deron Williams out of Friday's game

(2:57 pm ET) Despite participating in most of Thursday's practice including some contact drills, Nets guard Deron Williams has been ruled out of Friday’s game against the Raptors, reports The Record. Williams has been out since Jan. 7 after suffering a rib fracture.

Lakers' Mitch Kupchak confident Kobe Bryant will not retire

(2:46 pm ET) Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak said he doesn't think guard Kobe Bryant will retire and he plans on having Kobe back for next season.

"We spoke last night, he's in great spirits," Kupchak said. "He's excited about the prognosis and being ready for training camp."

Bryant is out for the rest of the season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff.
