With Hawks forward DeMarre Carroll battling a knee injury, teammate Paul Millsap volunteered to guard LeBron James in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals.

Millsap said he "wouldn't mind" guarding LeBron, per Cleveland.com.

After making the offer, Millsap admitted that me might be best used elsewhere.

"We've got to be smart about it," he said. "If they've got (Timofey) Mozgov and Tristan Thompson in the game, more than likely not. Probably need to put a body on Tristan Thompson. Maybe if they go to a smaller lineup."

Hawks point guard Jeff Teague scored a team-high 27 points on 11 of 24 shooting in his team's 97-89 loss to the Cavaliers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Wednesday.

The Hawks' offense ran through Teague on Wednesday, as he had twice as many shots as the player with the next most attempts on the team. Though he managed to have a quality scoring game, the Hawks were held to just 38 points in the second half after entering halftime tied at 51. Teague also kicked in four assists, three rebounds and two steals in 39 minutes.

The Hawks will look to even the series in Game 2 in Atlanta on Friday.

Knee - Questionable for Game 2 of Eastern Conference Finals vs. Cleveland (Updated - 5/20/15)
News
With Hawks small forward DeMarre Carroll ruled a game-time decision for Game 2 against the Cavaliers, Kent Bazemore is preparing to fill in that defensive-oriented role, according to AJC.com.

If Carroll does not play, Bazemore will undoubtedly have the task of defending Cavs forward LeBron James. Bazemore, though, is not shying away from that challenge.

“It’s great,” Bazemore said. “It’s a great platform to show what you can do. They brought me here as a defender and that’s my job. What a great measuring stick to go up against one of the best. … It’s tough but it’s what you sign up for. It’s a challenge I love. I love guarding the best players. I’ve been doing it all my life. This is no different. The tools I have and the preparation up to this point, I think I’ve prepared myself to do a good job.”

Bazemore is averaging 4.2 points and 2.8 rebounds per game during the playoffs.
