Although Celtics forward Brandon Bass will be a free agent after the season, he said he would prefer to be back with the Celtics, reports CSNNE.com.

"If I'm wanted back then yeah, I would want to be back for sure," Bass said. "It's been a blessing for me to be here four years, to finish out my contract here. I'm excited about that. Hopefully everything will continue to go in a positive direction."

Celtics general manager Danny Ainge said he appreciates what Bass offers and wants to keep him in a Celtics uniform beyond this season.

"What I like about Brandon, he's never satisfied with his role," Ainge said. "He goes about his job the same, every day. He's a rare guy in that he's getting better. I think he's better right now than he's ever been in his career. And I think his upside is still ahead of him."

Bass has seen his minutes increase lately in the wake of Jared Sullinger's season-ending injury.

Isaiah Thomas scored a season-high 28 points as the Celtics erased a 16-point deficit to beat the Hornets, 106-98, Friday.

Thomas scored 21 in the second half, sparking the Celtics' rally. He tied the game twice in the final nine minutes, once with a 3-pointer and once on a driving layup.

''Once we hit a few shots, got a little confidence,'' Thomas said, ''we were in attack mode the last 16-17 minutes of that game where we had the Hornets on their heels.''

Thomas added a game-high seven assists.

The Celtics next host the Warriors on Sunday.

In his third game with the Celtics, Jonas Jerebko recorded a double-double off the bench. Acquired at the trade deadline, last week, Jerebko scored 16 and grabbed a season-high 10 rebounds to lead the Celtics to a 106-98 win over the Hornets.

The Celtics erased a 16-point Hornets lead to win their third straight. Jerebko put the Celtics on top to stay on a go-ahead layup with 5:28 remaining.

Jerebko hit six-of-nine from the field, the only Celtic to make more than half of his shots for the game.

''When he played for Detroit, I knew he played very hard,'' teammate Avery Bradley said. ''He makes big shots. I feel like he can really help our team out.''

The Celtics host the Warriors on Sunday in their next game.

Celtics shooting guard Evan Turner delivered his first career triple-double Wednesday, scoring 10 points on 5 of 9 shooting while racking up 12 rebounds and 10 assists in his team's 115-94 win over the Knicks Wednesday.

The Celtics found themselves down six points midway through the third quarter but managed to hit their stride, outscoring the Knicks in the second half 67-45.

"We just kept rocking," Turner said after the game, per the Associated Press. "We made a lot of great plays to start that fourth quarter as a team. We got the energy going."

It was just the third time this season Turner delivered double-digit assists and also the third time he racked up double-digit rebounds. He led the team with 34 minutes, and the trio of Turner, Avery Bradley and Marcus Smart all saw at least 30 minutes of action even though Isaiah Thomas also played 27 minutes off the bench.

"We're just throwing darts," coach Brad Stevens said after the game. "Like today - we found a lineup that nobody would ever thought would play together right in an NBA game."

The Celtics will look for a third straight win Friday against the Hornets.
