LeBron James scored a game-high 27 points in three quarters of work in the Cavaliers' 110-79 blowout of the Celtics on Tuesday.

James shot 12-of-23 and dished out five assists. He added three steals in the game. With the Cavaliers on top by 42 after three quarters, James and the other Cavs' starters sat out the entire fourth quarter.

James' last points of the game, on a third-quarter layup, moved him past Ray Allen into 21st place on the NBA's all time list. James currently has 24,506 career points, one ahead of Allen. Patrick Ewing is next on the list, with 24,515. He's also passed Robert Parish, Allen Iverson and Charles Barkley this season.

"He's one of my best friends," James said. "He's a guy I competed against and grew up watching, and to be able to team with him the last two years when I was with Miami, I learned so much from him. To know I passed him, it's very humbling."

The Cavaliers next play at the Raptors on Wednesday.
