Lakers guard Kobe Bryant said he has "no reason to think" he would not play in the team's preseason opener against the Nuggets on Oct. 6, according to Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports.

Bryant returned from Achilles surgery, but had his 2013-14 campaign cut short because of a fractured lateral tibial plateau. He averaged 13.8 points, 6.3 assists and 5.7 turnovers in six games.

Lakers rookie forward Julius Randle, who was the seventh overall pick in this year's draft, told the Los Angeles Times that he's ready to come off the bench behind Carlos Boozer this season. 

"He deserves what he gets because he's put in the time and he's been successful," Randle said. "We're both going to be on the floor, whoever starts or not; that's not really my focus or worry."

Lakers forward Xavier Henry began 5-on-5 drills last week, but isn't sure when he'll be fully cleared to practice, according to the Orange County Register. His main focus is be ready to play the season opener against the Rockets on Oct. 28.

Henry was limited to 43 games last season because of wrist and knee injuries. Although his left wrist is full recovered from offseason surgery, his surgically repaired right knee is not at 100 percent. He averaged 10.0 points and 2.7 rebounds per game last season.
