News
Veteran point guard Mo Williams has worked his way into a starting role for the Timberwolves. He took advantage of that opportunity Wednesday by racking up 14 points and 13 assists in a defeat of the visiting Knicks.

Teammate Kevin Martin, who scored 37 points, credited Williams for sparking perhaps the team's best game of the season.

"Big difference," Martin said after the game. "When Mo came in and got me going. ... He knows your spots."

The Wolves have been seeking productivity from that position since the loss of Ricky Rubio to injury. Rookie Zach LaVine has proven unready.

Wrist - Out Indefintely (Updated - 11/21/14)
News
Timberwolves coach Flip Saunders said Friday that it'll be a couple of days before it's determined whether guard Kevin Martin will need to undergo surgery on his broken wrist, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

The team won't be able to tell if the wrist is displaced for a few days, and they'll make a decision on surgery once that is known. After scoring 71 points in his last two games, Martin is out indefinitely with the injury.

Hip - Out for Nov. 22 vs. Sacramento (Updated - 11/22/14)
News
Timberwolves center Ronny Turiaf will sit out Saturday's game against Sacramento, per the team's official game notes. Turiaf has been a marginal contributor this season because of a hip injury. He has yet to score a point through his first 20 minutes of game action this season.

His next chance to return will come Wednesday against Milwaukee.

Although the Cavaliers and Rockets are reportedly interested in landing Timberwolves swingman Corey Brewer, coach Flip Saunders doesn't appear ready to make a trade. According to the Associated Press, Saunders told reporters that Brewer is "too valuable" to trade at the moment.

Brewer is 10.2 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists through his first 10 games, including two starts. He's shooting 48.7 percent from the field over that span.

Injuries
Wrist - Out until at least Nov. 26 vs. Milwaukee (Updated - 11/18/14)
News
Timberwolves center Nikola Pekovic said Wednesday he will visit a doctor at the beginning of next week and hopefully be cleared to resume practicing. He is currently sidelined due to a sprained wrist.

"Of course, it's just the beginning of the season, of course it's disappointing," he said, per The Star Tribune. "But it's more disappointing when you try to do something and you just can't. When you're in pain, you make more damage than you can help your team. That's more disappointing that just sitting on the side...It's better to sit, take a few days off, try to heal everything as much as I can and then try to come back and play how I can play."

Timberwolves forward Shabazz Muhammad is playing more aggressive this season, according to teammate Kevin Martin.

Muhammad worked to shed weight during the offseason, and showed the fans what he could do during his first start on Wednesday. He scored 17 points and picked up eight rebounds in 32 minutes. Following the game, Martin told reporters Muhammad is "learning how to use his aggression in more positive ways."
