News
Knicks star forward Carmelo Anthony played a season-low 27 minutes Wednesday against the Timberwolves just a day after he revealed he had been playing with a sore knee since an Oct. 30 win at Cleveland.

However, Anthony stressed he doesn't believe the issue is "serious," and coach Derek Fisher seems to be taking the same approach, according to the New York Daily News.

"Not that I’m aware of, he hasn’t expressed any major concerns. I think he’s good to go, relatively speaking," Fisher said before a 115-99 loss to the Timberwolves. "I think he’s smart enough and a veteran enough player that if he had some concern about where he is, I think he would come either to me or to our training staff about trying to be smart."

Anthony sat out the fourth quarter Wednesday, despite going 7 of 10 from the field, including 4 of 5 from 3-point range.

"It was all right," Anthony said after the game about his knee. "It was sore a little bit, but it was all right. I try not to think about it during the game."

News
Knicks guard J.R. Smith has criticized his teammates for their lack of effort in the first half of a Tuesday night loss to Milwaukee. He called it "really embarrassing" that Derek Fisher had to remind them at halftime to play hard.

The Bucks had embarked on a 30-9 run in the second quarter en route to a 117-113 win.

"Coach challenged us ... to go out there and play hard and see what happens," Smith told ESPN. "For some reason, it's something we have to be reminded of, to play hard, which is really embarrassing at some point because you're a professional athlete. People pay a lot of money to come watch us play. Competing shouldn't be an issue."
