News
76ers guard Isaiah Canaan said Thursday his increased role with his new team is challenging has he tries to improve his conditioning, the Bucks County Courier Times reports.

"It's challenging," Canaan said. "Now you've got to get your game shape up to par."

Coach Brett Brown also said that conditioning has been a factor with his new players. "They're a C or C-minus because they haven't played," Brown said.

After averaging 14.8 minutes in 25 games with the Rockets this season, Canaan has averaged 30.7 minutes in three games played since the trade, scoring 12.0 points and dishing out 4.0 assists per game.

News
Nerlens Noel did a little of everything in helping the 76ers to snap a five-game losing streak, Friday. The Sixers beat the visiting Wizards, 89-81

Noel led the team with 14 points and 13 rebounds. He hit five-of-nine from the field and continued his improved free throw shooting. Noel knocked down four of six shots from the line. He's hit 47 of his 65 free throws (72.3 percent) over the last 19 games, after hitting at a 49.4 percent clip in his first 35 games.

"His free-throw improvement has given him a boost," coach Brett Brown said. " He doesn’t care if he gets fouled, he wants to go to the line."

In addition to the double-double, Noel added three assists, three blocks, and two steals, becoming the first Sixer to perfom as well in those five categories since Derrick Coleman in 1997.

"Right before our eyes, he's growing," Brown said of Noel.

The Sixers next play at the Pacers on Sunday night.
