Spurs forward Tim Duncan turned back the clock Wednesday, scoring a team-high 28 points on14 of 23 shooting as the Spurs earned a critical Game 2 victory, defeating the Clippers 111-107 in overtime to even the series at 1-1.

The Spurs have announced that star guard Tony Parker will be on the court Friday when his team hosts the Clippers. He had been dealing with an Achilles ailment and was considered questionable.

Not all their news is good, however. Center Aron Baynes (sprained ankle) will not suit up for the game.

Parker has been greatly stifled so far in the series. He's averaging just 5.5 points per game and shooting 23 percent from the field.

After sitting out the team's final six regular-season games because of a calf injury, Tiago Splitter played only 10 minutes in the Spurs' Game 1 loss on Sunday but coach Gregg Popovich said the center will see more minutes in Game 2 on Wednesday, reports the Los Angeles Times.

"He didn’t go backwards, so that’s a good thing," Popovich said. "Maybe he can play a few more minutes [Wednesday] night, I’m hoping," Popovich said.

Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard was named 2015 NBA Defensive Player of the Year on Thursday, racking up 37 first-place votes and 333 points. Draymond Green of the Warriors finished second with 45 first-place votes and 317 points. DeAndre Jordan of the Clippers was third with 32 first-place votes and 261 points.

Leonard, 23, led the league with 2.31 steals per contest, racking up a career-best 148 steals this season. He finished the season with 48 blocks, just two shy from matching last season's career best. His 64 games player are the fewest ever by a Defensive Player of the Year in a non-lockout season since David Robinson in 1991-91 (68).

The Spurs were third in defensive rating over the final 42 games, when Kawhi returned from a hand injury. They finished only behind Utah and Memphis, allowing 98.9 points per 100 possessions. The Spurs allowed a 97.1 defensive rating with Leonard on the floor overall.

Coming off a Finals MVP performance that helped San Antonio win the NBA title, Leonard and the Spurs were unable to agree on a contract extension before the start of the 2014-15 season, making him a restricted free agent at season's end.
