News: Oklahoma running back Roy Finch was cited on a misdemeanor complaint of property molestation on Dec. 8.
Analysis: Coach Bob Stoops said he hadn't decided whether or not Finch would be suspended as a result of the run-in with the law, so we'll wait and see.
News: Now that former quarterback Dayne Crist has met back up with Charlie Weis in Lawrence, he is now making a visit to Madison to check out a possible transfer to the Wisconsin Badgers.
Analysis: Keep in mind that if Crist does go to the Badgers, that he is nothing close to Russell Wilson and is not guaranteed to even win the starting job over Jon Budmayr.
News: Tomorrow when Colorado State announces their new head coach, it is expected to be Alabama offensive coordinator Jim McElwain.
Analysis: McElwain is familiar with the area as he coached at Fresno State before heading to Tuscaloosa. McElwain inherits a talented quarterback in Pete Thomas and a workhorse back in Chris Nwoke so he should be able to do some work on offense.
News: Central Florida quarterback Jeff Godfrey has been granted his release from the school, and is free to transfer to any school outside of Conference USA or the Big East.
Analysis: According to his mentor, Uncle Luke Campbell, Godfrey's preference is to return home and transfer to the University of Miami. No word on whether the 'Canes are interested, or where else Godfrey might consider.
News: Miami running back Lamar Miller is going to declare himself for the 2012 NFL Draft.
Analysis: Miller is a redshirt sophomore who is joining teammates Marcus Forston and Tommy Streeter to play on Sundays. With Miller leaving and Storm Johnson having transferred look for Mike James to carry the load next season.
News: Virginia Tech running back David Wilson seems legitimately torn regarding his future in Blacksburg.
Analysis: “I definitely want to come back. College football is real fun. At the same time, the NFL is a lifetime dream. It’s like a real hard decision. If [you forced me to choose] right now and said, ‘Pick one,’ I would still stutter and be like, ‘Uh, I really don’t know," said Wilson. Lots of VT folks feel like Wilson will return for another season, but I still won't believe it until I see it. It's not a deep year for rushers, and Wilson could be the second running back taken behind Alabama's Trent Richardson. Virginia Tech DB Jayron Hosley isn't waivering over his decision, and the Sugar Bowl will be his final as an amateur.
News: Florida State receiver Bert Reed injured his hamstring during Friday's practice and is likely out for the team's bowl match up against Notre Dame.
Analysis: Reed is out of eligibility after this season so it is a shame that it had to end like this.
News: Auburn running back Michael Dyer has been suspended for the bowl game against Virginia for a violation of team rules.
Analysis: This is a huge blow against the Tigers as Dyer has been the team's workhorse as they continue to work through their quarterbacking issues. Onterio McCalebb will be needed to step up in a big way if they are going to down the Cavaliers.
News: Wake Forest wide receiver Chris Givens said he is "thinking about it," when asked about entering the NFL Draft a year early.
Analysis: It would make sense to strike while the iron is hot, as Givens is coming off a career-high 1,276 yards and nine touchdowns. Givens said he might have a decision prior to the Deacons' bowl game against Mississippi State December 30th. Wake Forest has only had one player in school history depart early, and the guess here is that Givens will make that number double.
News: When Oklahoma takes on Iowa in the Insight Bowl they will be without wide receiver Jaz Reynolds and running back Brandon Williams. Reynolds has been hospitalized with a kidney injury, which is why he is unable to go.
Analysis: The Sooners have a tough test against the Hawkeyes and sorely need to put together a solid performance to save their season.
