One of the Boise three is reinstated: One of the Boise State trio that hails from Amsterdam has been reinstated. Safety Cedric Febis has been officially cleared by the NCAA and could play a big role for the Broncos this weekend. The other two players involved, receiver Geraldo Boldewijn and defensive end Ricky Tjong-A-Tjoe, are still awaiting word. (Updated 09/15/2011)

Fantasy Analysis
Febis was expected to be the Broncos starting strong safety and has been practicing with the team, so he'll likely see a ton of action, if not start. If we're to draw anything from the Febis decision, it would be that Boldewijn and Tjoe would seem to have a decent chance to return. (Updated 09/15/2011).

Often lost in the whirlwind romance that football fans have with the Broncos offensive theatrics is the way BSU plays defense. In a word, the Broncs get after people on the defensive end. They didn’t drop a 12-1 mark a year ago simply by outscoring teams – they get turnovers, they win the field position battle and they do their best to put points on the board when they can. With eight returning starters, the defense appears to be in good hands, particularly with a pair of passing game disrupting defensive ends in Tyrone Crawford and Shea McClellin. Crawford had 7 sacks and 13.5 tackles for loss a year ago, while McClellin was even better -- 9.5 sacks and 13.5 tackles for loss along the way. He and Crawford are big enough to attack running plays, but have the speed to make offensive tackles look like first time ice skaters. They’ll key the defense with their pressure. (Updated 8/31/11)
