Iowa will have to contain Le'Veon Bell this weekend when they face off against Michigan State. Spartan quarterback Andrew Maxwell hasn't been spectacular, but he also hasn't turned the ball over since their season opener, and the Hawkeye defense will have to focus on getting three and outs to get off the field.

| Normally one of the nation's elite defenses every year, the Hawkeyes really fell off in 2011, allowing 23.8 points per game and totaling just 21 sacks. Although those numbers look like an anomaly in the big picture for Iowa, there isn't any especially noteworthy talent coming in, so a similar season in 2012 is very possible. Still, Iowa should be worth owning in most Big Ten-only leagues, and could regain relevance in other formats. (Updated 8/30/12) |
