Ankle - Season Over For SDSU's Katz (Updated - 10/22/2012) |
| Fantasy Analysis |
It's a huge loss for San Diego State, as Ryan Katz was having an excellent year. Adam Dingwell did just fine as a replacement against Nevada, though. (Updated 10/22/12). |
| Ryan Katz was ousted from the starting role at Oregon State last year by Sean Mannion, but that doesn't mean he won't be a good player by San Diego State's standards. The Aztecs will turn to Katz this year now that Ryan Lindley is gone to the NFL, and Katz arrives with some very nice targets to throw to. Gavin Escobar is one of the nation's best tight ends, and the wideout trio of Colin Lockett, Dylan Denso and Brice Butler is quietly very good. His upside figures to be limited, but between his favorable surroundings and subtle running skills, Katz could emerge as a decent fantasy backup and matchup-based starter in most formats. He should probably be drafted in MWC-only leagues at the least. (Updated 8/30/12) |
