Starting QB Connor Shaw did most of the rushing damage for the Gamecocks with 96 yards on the ground. (Updated 1/1/13). |
| Kenny Miles struggled over the last two seasons, yet he's loosely expected to head into the fall as South Carolina's top backup runner. That role could be surprisingly important given the uncertainty surrounding starter Marcus Lattimore, who suffered a season-ending knee injury in 2011 that was especially concerning because it included cartilage damage. Even if he's the technical backup, though, Miles is mostly a third-down back and will likely lose goal-line and inside running work to Brandon Wilds if Lattimore misses time. (Updated 8/30/12) |
