Zach Maynard is out for a somewhat indefinite basis due to an unspecified knee ailment, but his replacement (Allan Bridgford) was dreadful against Oregon last week, completing just 9-of-21 passes for 113 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.

| As a Buffalo transfer, Zach Maynard for the most part lacks the talent necessary to be a standout BCS conference quarterback. He's just good enough, though, to be a solid spot starter when the matchup is right, particularly due to his good running skills (four rushing touchdowns in 2011). With just 17 passing touchdowns last year, though, Maynard will be no more than a fantasy backup if he doesn't improve in 2012. (Updated 8/30/12) |
