Rice's Petersen Over 170 Yards, Two TDs Against Southern Miss: Turner Petersen rushed for 136 yards on 19 carries with a touchdown against Southern Miss on Saturday. He also caught a 38-yard touchdown pass.

This is Turner Petersen's best performance of the season by far, as he had not yet gone over 100 yards from scrimmage or scored two touchdowns in a game this season. Expect another big effort at Tulane and their 112th ranked total defense.

| While McHargue's dual-threat ability may make him the Owls' top threat on the ground, the team boasted three running backs who recorded at least 200 yards in 2012. Charles Ross led all backs with 800 yards and 5.4 yards per carry. He'll be joined by fellow-seniors Turner Petersen (591 yards) and Jeremy Eddington in a backfield that will likely split carries once again in 2013. As a freshman in 2010, Eddington led the team with 10 touchdowns but has since seen his role reduced. (Updated 6/11/13) |
