Ryan Boykin's absence hurts the Ohio running game, though it aids the fantasy value of Tyler Tettleton and Beau Blankenship, who will have less competition for carries now. Boykin was an excellent off-the-bench power runner for Ohio, going for 445 and four touchdowns on 74 carries (6.0 YPC).

| Ryan Boykin finished last year with just 430 yards and one touchdown (4.1 YPC), but he's set to receive a significant promotion now that Ohio will be without 2011 leading rusher Donte Harden. Harden had 188 carries in 2011, meaning Boykin could make a push for the 200-carry mark, a scenario in which he would be quite valuable in MAC-only leagues, as well as a player worth monitoring in other deep formats. He will split carries with Beau Blankenship, but Boykin had more carries last year and could have an advantage over Blankenship in the running back rotation. (Updated 8/30/12) |
