Northwestern's Colter In Continued Two-QB System: Northwestern is expected to use a two-quarterback system again in 2013 with Kain Colter and Trevor Siemian, ESPN reports.

| Fantasy Analysis |
This isn't a big surprise since both quarterbacks are returning. Kain Colter still thrived in last year's two-QB system as he had 872 yards passing with eight touchdowns and added 894 yards rushing with 12 touchdowns and also had 169 yards receiving. His rushing ability, especially in the red zone, will make him a fantasy factor regardless of how much he plays. However, his upside may be limited in the two-QB system.

| Kain Colter was simply spectacular in 2011, throwing for 669 yards and six touchdowns, running for 654 yards (4.8 YPC) and nine touchdowns and catching 43 passes for 458 yards and three scores. As good as he was on the field, Colter was even more valuable in fantasy football, where his ambiguous position resulted in WR eligibility in most leagues. Colter's value could be trending downward entering 2012, though, because he appears set as Northwestern's starting quarterback, which should limit his eligibility. Still, coach Pat Fitzgerald has as good a record as anyone when it comes to coaching up quarterbacks. (Updated 8/30/12) |
