| New coach Kliff Kingsbury will continue to run the air-raid offense Texas Tech has become known for over the past decade. He's a veteran of the system, having set 39 school records as a quarterback from 1998-2002. There was a competition between Michael Brewer and Webb throughout the spring but it appears Brewer has the advantage heading into the season. As Seth Doege's backup last season, Brewer completed 34 of 48 passes for 375 yards and four touchdowns. Should he falter early, true freshman Davis Webb could get a chance to win the position.
