Derreck Edwards, eighth on the team with five catches for 45 yards this year, did not travel with the team last week for its game against Iowa State due to academics, with head coach of the Red Raiders, Tommy Tuberville, telling the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal Edwards is "having a tough time class-wise, but he's catching up." Javares McRoy, an insider receiver for Texas Tech, is also currently sitting out due to academics.
