UTEP's Dowell to See Short Yardage Carries?: After converting a third-and-one situation into a first down with a 10 yard rush, there is some speculation that Laquintus Dowell could be used as UTEP's short yardage back this season, the El Paso Times reports.

Laquintus Dowell finished the scrimmage with 42 yards rushing on seven carries, but it was his short yardage carry that has some talking. However, until we see coach Mike Price use Dowell again in this sort of situation, expect starter Nathan Jeffery to get these sort of carries.
