Akeem Hunt supplied a 50-yard TD reception and a 56-yard dash to the end zone en route to 156 all-purpose yards on just six touches. After displaying big-play ability as a freshman last season -- 33 carries for 287 yards (8.7 YPC) -- he should see his usage increase as the year continues.

| With last year's starting running back Akeem Shavers moving on, the door is open for Akeem Hunt as the new starter. For the second straight year in a backup role, Hunt averaged more than 8.0 yards per carry. Hunt has been referenced before as one of the fastest players in the Big Ten and will now have the chance to be a lead back in a new offensive system and could have sleeper potential if he produces early in the season.
