Kyle Carter had quietly been among the nation's most promising tight ends this year, catching 35 passes for 441 yards and two touchdowns in eight games before an ankle and then wrist injury struck. He'll probably be high on the tight end cheatsheets in 2013. In the meantime, Matt Lehman and Jesse James are on the radar as fantasy options as the remaining established Penn State tight ends.

| Penn State has three talented tight ends and, if 2012 was any indication, Kyle Carter is the best receiver of the trio, making him a top fantasy target in Big Ten-only leagues, and a worthwhile TE1 in most other formats, too. Although he only played in nine games last year, Carter caught 36 passes for 453 yards and two scores as a freshman, so it would be a disappointment if he didn't make it to 50 catches for 600 or more yards in 2013. The other two Penn State tight ends - Jesse James and Matt Lehman - are a bit of a concern for Carter's workload, though. (Updated 6/11/13) |
