News:Oklahoma State's defense allowed 59 points and 501 total yards without forcing a turnover in Saturday's loss at Arizona.
Analysis: Arizona is a much better team than Savannah State but this has to be a very disappointing outing for a defense with such a potent offense behind them. The offense didn't help them out much Saturday, turning the ball over four times.
News: The Cowboys defense gave up 139 total yards, forced two turnovers and collected just one sack in Saturday's 84-0 route of Savannah State.
Analysis: A solid day for the defense but it came against a much lesser opponent. They will face off against a considerably better offense next week when they play at Arizona.
News: Tulsa rung up 365 yards on the ground last weekend against Oklahoma State. But Bill Haisten of Tulsa World points out there were mitigating circumstances that led to the gashing. The Pokes were without co-defensive coordinator Glenn Spencer due to the death of his wife. Tulsa hit them with unexpected formations and the game started after midnight due to the weather.
Analysis: Valid points. However, Texas A&M's offensive line is scary good and they better be ready for a steady dose of Cyrus Gray and Christine Michael this weekend.
News: Oklahoma State starting free safety Johnny Thomas has been ruled ineligible for the 2011 season. Thomas is one of the Big 12's top safeties and it's a tough loss for the Cowboys' defense.
Analysis: Thomas does still have a redshirt and will probably elect to use it this season so he is eligible to play next year. He was also one of the team's primary kickoff return men, so he will be sorely missed in more ways than one.
News:Analysis: Oklahoma State allowed 16 points against Texas Saturday while totaling one interception, one fumble recovery and two sacks. They're not a bad play against Kansas.
News: The Cowboys allowed 464 yards and forced three turnovers in Oklahoma State's 55-28 loss to Baylor Saturday.
Analysis: The Cowboys allowed 28 points and almost 500 yards but that's what happens when a game is out of hand early. The Cowboys also got a 93 yard kickoff return late from justin Gilbert to add insult to injury.
News:Analysis: The Cowboys surrendered just 14 points and 289 yards of offense in a stellar display on Saturday against Kansas State. Johnny Thomas returned an interception 26 yards for a touchdown to cap off the impressive day for the Cowboys, who may not find as much success on defense against Baylor next week.
News: The Cowboys allowed 540 yards of total offense including 323 yards passing in Oklahoma State's 51-41 loss to Nebraska Saturday.
Analysis: The Cowboys have never been known for their defense, so to be shocked by this output and final score would be in the wrong for you.
News: Oklahoma State held the mighty Texas Tech offense to just 226 yards through the air and two touchdowns in Saturday's 34-17 win over Texas Tech.
Analysis: While the defense didn't pick off a pass, it did force two fumbles. Oklahoma State hasn't really been known for defense, well in a long time anyway, so don't be surprised when it gives up 28-35 points per game on most days.
News:Analysis: Oklahoma State allowed 28 points against Louisiana-Lafayette Friday while totaling three sacks, one interception and a fumble recovery. Another decent performance by the Cowboys, but they'll probably take a beating against Texas Tech (the defense, at least).
News:Analysis: Oklahoma State allowed 35 points against Texas A&M Thursday and totaled four sacks, a fumble recovery, four interceptions and a touchdown. Despite those big turnover numbers, Oklahoma State's defense really isn't that good. But they have a decent matchup against Louisiana-Lafayette next week.
News: Oklahoma State allowed 428 yards and 9-of-17 on third-down conversions while giving up four touchdowns in Saturday's 65-28 win over Tulsa Saturday.
Analysis: The Cowboys gave up just one touchdown in the first half and later took out its starters late in the game, thus the 28 points given up. Of course seven of those points came on an interception return for a touchdown. They also forced three turnovers against quarterback G.J. Kinne. Oklahoma State has never been known for its defense, and against a cupcake, the Cowboys defense performed the way one would expect a defense to perform against a team like Tulsa.
News:Analysis: The Trojans were able to rack up 371 yards of offense against Oklahoma State, though the Cowboys did tally two sacks, two INTs and four fumbles. Oklahoma State figures to be in a lot of shootouts this season, making them a risky play despite the nice turnover total in this contest.
Oklahoma State Holds Washingon State to 17 in 48-Point Romp
News: The Cowboys allowed 324 yards of total offense and forced two turnovers (both fumbles) in Saturday's win.
Analysis: The only drawback here was that the Cowboys didn't have an interceptions and had just two turnovers in the win. The Cowboys have been knocked for their lack of defense, but this performance is a good confidence boost for next week's tilt with Troy.
