Temple Defense Gives Up Three Ground Touchdowns Vs. Orange
News: The Temple defense gave up 260 yards on the ground and 38 points in a home loss to Syracuse on Friday.
Analysis: The Owl defense forced two fumbles, but gave up 5.3 yards per carry to the Orange offense. Temple has given up at least 32 points in the team's last six games.
News: The Owl defense allowed 407 yards and 32 points against Army, but the team won going away.
Analysis: The Owls scored quickly on offense and had a nearly even time of possession despite scoring 63 points. Army's triple-option was effective against Temple, but it turned out not to matter.
News: The Temple defense allowed 34 points and 472 yards Saturday against Cincinnati.
Analysis: Perhaps the Owls watched tapes of the Bearcats with quarterback Munchie Legaux and were unprepared for Brendon Kay. Cincinnati had little problems scoring against Temple.

Analysis: The Temple defense has allowed 127 points in the last three weeks. The offense does the defense no favors by not holding the ball very long (and had four fumbles against the Cardinals).

Analysis: The Owls could not stop the run (207 yards) or the pass (528), and did not force a turnover. It was no surprise based on those numbers that the Panthers won big.

Analysis: Granted, one of the touchdowns came on a fumble return, but the Temple defense had no answer for Gary Nova. The 35 points were the most allowed by Temple this season.

Analysis: Connecticut was without leading running back Lyle McCombs and only had 88 yards on the ground. The Owl defense forced a fumble and allowed the team to come back and win in overtime.
News:Temple's defense has been led by redshirt freshman Nate D. Smith and true freshman Tyler Matakevich, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Analysis: Defensive coordinator Chuck Heater said that the defense does not execute consistently, but it is improving. The Owls will face an offensively-challenge UConn squad on Saturday, so their statistics are bound to improve. They could make for a nice sleeper play as a defensive unit.
News: The Owl defense allowed 369 yards to Villanova, but the Wildcats only scored 10 points. The Owls forced two turnovers and defensive back Vaughn Carraway returned an interception for a touchdown.
Analysis: The Wildcats did not have many receiving options, but gained 218 yards on the ground at 5.0 yards per carry. Temple will have to tighten things up before Big East play starts in order to be fantasy relevant.

Temple Defense Plays Tough Against Central Michigan
News:Analysis: Temple allowed 10 points while forcing two sacks and two interceptions. The Owls also recovered a fumble. Expect a more difficult outing against Connecticut next week.
News:Analysis: Temple allowed 27 points while forcing one sack and one interception against Villanova Friday, but strengthened the performance with a fumble recovery for a touchdown on a kickoff return. For whatever puzzling reason, Temple always has trouble with Villanova. They should be better against Central Michigan next week.

Analysis: The Owls were able to force two turnovers, though they were picked apart for over 400 yards passing on the day. The Owls travel to Ohio to take on Akron on Friday.

Analysis: No one will confuse Temple's defense with a dominating unit, but it's nice to see some improvement out of them. They travel to Toledo on Saturday.
