News:Eric Ward finished the 2012 season strong with 75 catches for 974 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Texas Tech's Ward Grabs Three Passes Against Northwestern St.
News:Eric Ward caught three passes for 26 yards in Texas Tech's win over Northwestern State on Saturday.
Analysis:Eric Ward had a quiet day, but so did the rest of the Tech receiving core. Thirteen different Red Raiders caught a pass, so it was hard for any one player to have a standout game.
News:Eric Ward (illness) missed Tuesday's practice with the flu, LubbockOnline.com reports.
Analysis: The flu is not serious, but he was held of practice and kept away from the team because he was contagious. He should not miss significant time. Eric Ward is going to be the Tech receiver with the least amount of risk come draft day. He won't dazzle with big plays, but he will consistently pull in passes all season. In 2011, Ward caught 84 passes.
News: Texas Tech wide receiver Eric Ward set a team record with 16 catches and had 151 yards and two touchdowns total in the team's loss to Baylor. Darrin Moore also added two scores and Adam James topped 100 yards for the Red Raiders.
Analysis: It was a huge day for the Red Raider receiving corps, but the defense has been abysmal all season and cost the team any shot at winning this one.
News: Texas Tech quarterback Seth Doege threw for 381 yards and two scores against Texas, spreading the ball around to nine different receivers. Most notable Darrin Moore found the end zone for the first time since Week 2, catching six passes for 34 yards. Adam James led all receivers with 95 yards on five catches. Alex Torres and Eric Ward each added another 75 yards, with Ward finding the end zone.
Analysis: With many options to throw to, it looks like Tech receivers are going to be hit or miss the rest of the season. Ward, Moore and Torres should all have games where they lead the Red Raiders receivers.
News: Texas Tech wide receiver Alex Torres had eight catches for 111 yards and a touchdown while Eric Ward had ten grabs for 74 yards and a score of his own in Saturday's loss to Texas A&M.
Analysis: Ward has stepped up big time ever since Darrin Moore went down with an injury, and it's also nice to see Torres have a solid performance despite the loss.
News: Texas Tech running back Eric Stephens rushed it 26 times for 124 yards and a score, and Eric Ward once again caught two touchdowns to go along with 71 yards in the team's victory over Kansas.
Analysis: Ward has been coming through with the scores, but quarterback Seth Doege has really been spreading the ball around with Darrin Moore sidelined by injury. Stephens' productivity remains solid as he is the only back that gets significant action for the Red Raiders.
News: Texas Tech is going up against a porous Kansas defense and this means quarterback Seth Doege and running back Eric Stephens are basically must-starts in any fantasy league.
Analysis: Doege will be without his favorite target Darrin Moore (knee), but he found wide-out Eric Ward for two scores last week against Nevada so he showed he could adapt to life without Moore. There should be several notable fantasy performances coming out of this game.
News: Texas Tech quarterback Seth Doege had a rather pedestrian day by his standards, going 26 of 38 for 222 yards and three touchdowns, but he also scampered for 83 yards on the ground in a comeback win against Nevada.
Analysis: Doege lost his number one receiver, Darrin Moore, to injury in the first quarter, so he had to turn to Eric Ward, who had two touchdown catches, including the game winner with under a minute left. Hopefully Moore's injury isn't too serious; otherwise, another receiver will have to emerge as Doege's favorite target.
News: Texas Tech sophomore wide receiver Eric Ward participated in Tuesday's full contact practice, which is significant because Ward suffered a concussion on August 10 and hadn't practiced since.
Analysis: Ward's time out in fall workouts looks like it hindered his chance of receiving much playing time this season. Many were looking for Ward to make a leap in 2011, but perhaps he will make some noise now that he has returned to full practice drills.
News: Texas Tech has not decided yet if Ward will reshirt this season. "That (decision) will go at least the next couple of weeks," wide receivers coach Dennis Simmons told the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal. "He'll probably (suit up Saturday), but I don't know what'll happen."
Analysis: Ward is a high-profile freshman who has been working with the third-string unit on offense.
