Analysis:Zurlon Tipton has 871 rushing yards and first in the MAC in yards per carry (6.4) among running backs with more than 100 carries. He should be in fantasy lineups next week against Western Michigan.
News:Zurlon Tipton had 37 carries for 243 yards and three touchdowns along with two catches for eight yards Saturday against Akron.
Analysis:Zurlon Tipton now has 137 carries for 871 yards and 10 touchdowns along with 14 catches for 139 yards and one touchdown on the season. He is starter-worthy for anyone that owns him.
News: Coach Dan Enos said it would be ideal for Zurlon Tipton to touch the ball 35 times in every game, but game situations have dictated otherwise, according to the Morning Sun.
Analysis: 35 touches per game is unrealistic, but it's nice to see Enos acknowledging the need to get Zurlon Tipton more involved. He has 628 rushing yards and eight total touchdowns this season, and his fantasy arrow is pointing up.
News:Zurlon Tipton had 17 carries for 126 yards and a touchdown along with one catch for 29 yards Saturday against Ball State.

Analysis:Zurlon Tipton has emerged as the Chippewas' top running back, and is worth at least a roster spot in deep leagues.
CMU's Tipton Leads Team In Rushing vs, Michigan State
News:Zurlon Tipton had 11 carries for 62 yards and one catch for five yards against Michigan State on Saturday.
Analysis:Zurlon Tipton is the Chippewas' running back to own in fantasy leagues, though another challenging matchup is coming on September 22 against Iowa.
News:Zurlon Tipton had 17 carries for 180 yards and three touchdowns against Southeast Missouri State on Thursday night.
Analysis: Definitely a nice start to the season for Zurlon Tipton, but a reality check is in order next week against Michigan State.
News:Zurlon Tipton is listed as the Chippewas' No. 1 tailback for Thursday night's season opener against Southeast Missouri State, according to the Morning Sun.
Analysis:Zurlon Tipton played just seven games last season, and is likely to lose playing time and touches to Anthony Garland. His ability as a pass catcher may help him stay on the field, but right now there's little to see here for fantasy owners.
News: Central Michigan freshman running back Anthony Garland led the ground attack tonight at Kent State with 78 yards on 16 rushes, his second straight week as the Chips' lead back.
Analysis: This is an interesting development, as we've long been touting Garland as someone to watch if given the opportunity. Zurlon Tipton made a miraculous recovery from a broken ankle, ran for 110 yards in his return, and has since disappeared. Maybe Tipton isn't fully healthy, but it doesn't matter at this point. The Chips' season is virtually over, and I'd think Garland has earned his chance to prove himself over the final two contests. Give him a look next week against Ohio, and officially put him on your 2012 sleeper list.
News: Central Michigan freshman running back Anthony Garland blew up for 141 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries against Akron.
Analysis: I've quietly been touting Garland, and his only limitations have been a lack of touches. Zurlon Tipton carried ten times for 52 yards, and Paris Cotton was no where to be found. It's obviously a fluid situation, but Garland may be worth a roster spot just to see how this plays out.
News: Central Michigan running back Zurlon Tipton, thought to be out for the season due to a broken foot, returned against Ball State, and rushed 18 times for 110 yards.
Analysis: There goes any value Paris Cotton once had. If Tipton was dropped in your league, go ahead and add him as the Chips have been pretty effective running the ball.
News: Central Michigan running back Paris Cotton rolled an ankle last week against Northern Illinois. Cotton is listed as probable this week against North Carolina State on various injury reports.
Analysis: Cotton started the season behind Zurlon Tipton on the depth chart mainly because of fumble issues. With Tipton out for the year, Cotton will be called upon to carry the load again this season. Production like last week (225 yards rushing/receiving and 3 TDs) cannot be counted upon regularly.
News: Central Michigan running back Tim Phillips ran for 84 yards and a touchdown against in-state rival Western Michigan. He added 21 yards on three catches.
Analysis: Phillips is filling in for the injured Zurlon Tipton, who is most likely out for the year. Phillips is worth a roster spot in deeper leagues, but temper expectations for the 5-foot-5, 162 pound scat back.
News: Central Michigan running back Zurlon Tipton is now expected to miss "most" of the season after breaking a bone in his foot.
Analysis:Tim Phillips is second on the team in carries to date, but he goes all of 5-foot-5, 166 pounds. Paris Cotton and redshirt frosh Ben Brown seem better suited as lead backs, so keep an eye out and see if one can establish themselves. Head coach Dan Enos said Tipton could be back for a few games in November.
News: Central Michigan's leading rusher Zurlon Tipton will be out for this weekend's game against Western Michigan because of a foot injury.
Analysis: While Tipton's injury may lead to more carries for Tim Phillips, remember that Paris Cotton still lurks for carries so this is a situation to avoid in all formats.
News: Sleeper fantasy back Zurlon Tipton was injured during the first half Saturday against Kentucky.
Analysis: Backup Tim Phillips can be in line for major work against Western Michigan if Tipton is not able to go. Consider Tipton day to day for now.
News: Central Michigan coach Dan Enos believes sophomore running back Zurlon Tipton has taken the next step in his maturity and is ready to lead the rushing attack in 2011.
Analysis: Tipton was solid in the opener, scoring a touchdown while rushing for 73 yards, catching two passes and averaging 33 yards per kick return in CMU's week one win. While Kentucky is a step up in competition they did allow a 100-yard rushing day to Bobby Rainey in the opener, so Tipton is a speculative roster addition.
News: Tipton returned from a two-game suspension and had 11 carries for 54 yard and a touchdown in last week's win over Eastern Michigan.
Analysis: It looks like he'll be No. 2 on the depth chart behind Paris Cotton, but Carl Volny could also figure into the mix.
News: Tipton is suspended for the first two Central Michigan games, Central Michigan Life reports.
Analysis: Tipton is still expected to have a fairly prominent change of pace role behind starter Carl Volny. But he isn't worth fantasy consideration.
