News:Josh Harris finished the season with 608 yards and five touchdowns, but missed most of the team's final two contests due to a concussion.
Analysis:Josh Harris also missed time early in 2012 due to a head injury. This on the heals of missing six games in 2011 thanks to various ailments. His injury history paired with DeAndre Martin's presence makes it difficult to find value for Harris in 2013.
News:Josh Harris ran seven times for 15 yards Saturday at North Carolina State.
Analysis: The Wolfpack had given up at least 206 yards on the ground in their last three contests, but came out to prove they could stop the run in Week 11. Josh Harris faces a stout Notre Dame unit this Saturday, and will struggle to get much going.
News:Josh Harris gained 76 yards on just 10 carries Thursday against Clemson.
Analysis:Josh Harris did most of his damage on a 43-yard scamper, and his opportunities were limited by an early 35-0 deficit.
News:Josh Harris ran 14 times for 55 yards and a touchdown Saturday at Virginia.
Analysis:Josh Harris now has one more carry, one more touchdown, and the exact same yardage he had a season ago - and still has five games remaining. He's quietly putting together a useful season.
News:Josh Harris ran 18 times for 73 yards Saturday at Maryland.
Analysis:Josh Harris is putting up similar lines weekly now. He's healthy, but struggling to break long runs, limiting his upside.
News:Josh Harris ran for 84 yards on 17 carries Saturday against Duke.
Analysis: It's Josh Harris' second straight solid outing, but considering the opponents, he can't be considered "back." He should be owned in all leagues, but also shouldn't be counted on for consistency.
News:Josh Harris ran 12 times for 129 yards and two touchdowns Saturday against Army.
Analysis: A nice breakout game from Josh Harris, who came in as a volume rusher averaging a mere 2.5 yards per carry before Saturday. He's certainly capable of a similar line next week against Duke.
News:Josh Harris ran 15 times for 51 yards Saturday at Florida State.
Analysis: Another low yards per carry average for Josh Harris, but he's now totaled 36 carries in his last two outings after suffering a concussion in the season opener. There's little reason to think Harris won't continue to see this kind of volume, making him a decent option with the right matchup.
News:Josh Harris ran 21 times for 41 yards and a touchdown Saturday against North Carolina.
Analysis: A terrible yards per carry average, but the fact that Josh Harris is healthy and getting the bulk of the carries is encouraging.
News:Josh Harris (concussion) was not in pads, but participated in practice Tuesday according to the Winston-Salem Journal.
Analysis: Head coach Jim Grobe expects to have his full lineup available Saturday against North Carolina, but Josh Harris figures to be limited, at best, if he plays. Deandre Martin has a shot to firmly establish himself as the team's top rushing option.
News:Josh Harris ran five times for zero yards against Liberty before leaving with a concussion.
Analysis: Not a good way to start what many hoped would be a bounce back season.
News:Josh Harris sat today's scrimmage out with an injured shoulder, but impressed his coach in doing so, notes the Winston-Salem Journal.
Analysis: Jim Grobe expects Josh Harris to be a full go at practice tomorrow, adding, "he's a different guy right now. He's trying to be durable and dependable. It's nice when you've got to grab somebody's jersey and pull them out, rather than them taking themselves out." Harris is poised for a bounce back season, and is well worth a shot late in your draft.
News:Josh Harris made it through spring healthy after battling hamstring injuries throughout 2011, but isn't likely to speak to the media soon, the Winston Salem Journal reports.
Analysis:Josh Harris was drastically overvalued last season, but now might make a sneaky buy low candidate. He'll probably still share carries with Orville Reynolds in an effort to keep him healthy, but Harris makes for a wonderful last round flier in all formats.
News: Wake Forest running back Brandon Pendergrass ran for 125 yards and a touchdown against Maryland.
Analysis: Another impressive performance for Wake's newly labeled starter. This speaks as much to Maryland's horrid rush defense as anything, as freshman Orville Reynolds gained 63 yards on 11 carries. Still, Josh Harris remains out and Pendergrass is in a groove. He's an interesting option next week against Vanderbilt.
News: Wake Forest running back Brandon Pendergrass will start again this Saturday against Maryland. Orville Reynolds is expected to serve as the backup.
Analysis: There has been no update on Josh Harris (hamstring), but the above is a pretty good indicator that he probably won't play.
News: Wake Forest running back Brandon Pendergrass ran 20 times for 134 yards and two touchdowns against Clemson.
Analysis: Filling in for Josh Harris (hamstring) yet again, Pendergrass kept the Deacs in the game. He's now up to seven touchdowns, after scoring eight in his first three seasons, and with Maryland's pathetic rush defense up next, Pendergrass' career year should continue.
News: Wake Forest running back Josh Harris is still dealing with an injured hamstring, and is unlikely to play Saturday night against Notre Dame.
Analysis: Harris reinjured his hammy against North Carolina, and an MRI revealed a strain. Brandon Pendergrass will start, and head coach Jim Grobe is giving very real consideration to pulling freshman Orville Reynolds' redshirt. At this point, I'd like to pat myself on the back for my preseason preview of Harris. Reynolds is a name to target in dynasty leagues with Pendergrass set to graduate.
News: Wake Forest running back Josh Harris finally made an appearance today at North Carolina, but totaled just nine yards on three carries.
Analysis: Considering Harris was dressed two weeks ago, and allegedly could have played against Virginia Tech, the fact that his hamstring injury is still an issue is baffling. He's shaping up as one of the biggest busts of the season, so hopefully you heeded our warnings in August. He'll be a risky selection come 2012.
News: Wake Forest running back Josh Harris (hamstring) is expected to play this week after missing last week's game against Virginia Tech.
Analysis: Harris was actually in uniform last week, and available in the event of an emergency. Points will be scored Saturday, so feel free to use Harris as you normally would.
News: Wake Forest running back Josh Harris (hamstring) has been downgraded to doubtful on the team's injury report.
Analysis: Certainly not the news anyone was hoping for, as Harris looked like a sneaky play against an injured Hokie defensive front. Brandon Pendergrass will see the bulk of the touches assuming Harris sits.
News: Wake Forest running back Josh Harris (hamstring) hasn't practiced this week, and is questionable to play Saturday against Virginia Tech.
Analysis: Harris is coming off his best game of the season, which saw him go for 136 yards on just 13 carries before exiting in the 3rd quarter with a tight hammy. He also gashed the Hokies' for 240 yards last season...and VT's run defense just got pushed around by Miami. Harris says he's playing, and it's a tasty matchup. Make sure he practices before starting him however.
News: Wake Forest running back Josh Harris ran for 136 yards on just 13 carries against Florida State.
Analysis: Finally a breakout game for the Deacon's back. It's his first time topping the century mark, and was only averaging 3.5 yards per carry coming in. Wake gets a Virginia Tech defense that was just shredded on the ground by Miami, so Harris could be a sneaky pick next week.
News: Wake Forest running back Josh Harris had 112 yards on just nine carries in yesterday's scrimmage. He took one handoff 96 yards to paydirt.
Analysis: Not bad for a kid who was waiver wire material at best last year before rolling into Blacksburg and carving up the Hokies. I've been cautious in recommending Harris this season, as I question his ability to be consistent, and remain healthy. But it sounds like quarterback Tanner Price is showing some development, and Harris shouldn't have to do everything by himself as a result. He's definitely got a shot at reaching the century mark in yardage a few times in 2011.
News: In an interview with Wake Forest running back Josh Harris, the sophomore running back said that the thing he is looking forward to most is just the chance to redeem himself and his team against ACC foes. Harris says the the team has improved most in the area of toughness and that he personally has worked on getting bigger and faster so he can be more consistent.
Analysis: Consistency is key for the uber-talented rusher. After rushing for 241 yards against Virginia Tech, Harris registered only one more game over 100 yards and that was against Vanderbilt. Harris has all the skills to be a terror in the ACC and as Tanner Price matures as a passer, Harris should find running lanes a bit wider.
News: Harris suffered a concussion last week against Boston College, but has been cleared to play this week against N.C. State, the Winstom-Salem Journal reports. "Josh Harris will be there, but we'll just kind of see how the game goes," head coach Jim Grobe said.
Analysis: However, Grobe said Josh Adams will start at running back, so it sounds like Harris may have a limited role if he does play.
News: Harris ran for 67 yards on 19 carries against Boston College Saturday.
Analysis: Harris will be worth a flex start in ACC-only leagues once he plays Vanderbilt, but he should be on benches and waiver wires until then.
News: Harris had 20 carries for 241 yards and two touchdowns against Virginia Tech on Saturday.
Analysis: Harris didn't have a lot of value coming into the game and while it was an outstanding game, it's hard to believe that Harris can keep it up, especially when he's likely to go back to splitting carries with fellow RB Josh Adams.
News: Harris had 14 carries for 46 yards, adding three catches for 32 yards against Navy on Saturday.
Analysis: Harris led the Deacons in rushing but unfortunately that was with only 46 yards. Wake couldn't get the ground game going but that was because the passing game was so effective. He was able to add some value through the air but not a whole lot. Still, this game doesn't really affect the little value Harris already had.
News: Harris had four carries for four yards against Florida State on Saturday.
Analysis: Harris didn't have a good game but neither did any of the other Wake runningbacks. They have a favorable match-up against Georgia Tech next but it's hard to recommend any them given how much Wake is spreading the carries around.
Harris Registers Most Carries for Wake Forest vs. Stanford
News: Harris had six carries for 15 yards against Stanford on Saturday.
Analysis: Harris led all Wake running backs in carries, but it's clear they are content with spreading the workload around the backfield.
News: Harris gained 50 yards on 12 carries against Duke Saturday.
Analysis: Harris has a shaky workload, so it's best to find your running back options elsewhere.
News: Harris had six carries for 74 yards and two touchdowns against Presbyterian on Thursday night.
Analysis: Harris is slated to be Josh Adams' backup, but if the Demon Deacons focus more on the running game this season he could have a role in the team's offense.
