News:Andre Williams (abdomen) is doubtful for Saturday's game against Virginia Tech, USA Today reports.
Analysis: He is very unlikely to play on Saturday versus Virginia Tech, as David Dudeck and Rolandan Finch will likely split the running game against the Hokies.
News:Andre Williams (abdomen) is not listed on the depth chart for Saturday's game against Notre Dame, the South Bend Tribune reports.
Analysis:Andre Williams would have been a no-go against Notre Dame's ruthless defense anyway, so it's not a bad game to miss. David Dudeck and Rolandan Finch will split the futile task of running against the Irish.
News:Andre Williams ran 11 times for 51 yards Saturday at Georgia Tech.
Analysis:Andre Williams was coming off of consecutive 100 yard games, and had 20+ carries in his previous three outings.
News:Andre Williams looks like he'll again see a large number of carries Saturday against Georgia Tech, thanks to Rolandan Finch's absence, and Tajh Kimble's knee surgery.
Analysis:Andre Williams has 63 carries over his last three games, and is averaging a solid 4.8 yards per carry on the year. He's a clear workhorse who may have been ignored in your league up until now.
News:Andre Williams ran 21 times for 191 yards and two touchdowns Saturday at Army.
Analysis: A huge breakout game for Andre Williams, who had 58 carries for 178 yards coming into Saturday. With Tajh Kimble injured, and Rolandan Finch AWOL, Williams has carried 22 and 21 times in consecutive weeks, making him a reasonable option for those desperate at running back.
News:Andre Williams ran 22 times for 61 yards and a touchdown Saturday against Clemson.
Analysis:Andre Williams was the only back to carry the ball, and the Eagles desperately tried to establish a ground game. He'll find plenty of holes next week against Army, and makes for a sneaky bye week play as a result.
News:Andre Williams sat out Wednesday's scrimmage after spraining an ankle in the Eagles' previous scrimmage according to the Boston Globe.
Analysis:Andre Williams practiced Wednesday, just sat out the scrimmage, so there's little worry about here. He's likely to see a heavier than usual workload in week one as Rolandan Finch continues to recover from a sprained foot, making Williams a reasonable flex play in ACC heavy leagues.
News:Andre Williams ran just four times for 25 yards in the Eagles' first scrimmage of the fall, the school's official site reports.
Analysis: That's a nice yards per carry, but Andre Williams was obviously behind projected starter Rolandan Finch. Williams will have some value in ACC heavy leagues, but there isn't much upside here.
News: Boston College running back Andre Williams (abdominal injury) returned against North Carolina State, and led the way with 61 yards on 18 carries.
Analysis:Rolandan Finch managed just nine yards on three carries. It's an interesting development given how well Finch has run recently. I wouldn't drop him just yet, but both Eagle backs need to be benched next week against Notre Dame.
News: Boston College running back Andre Williams (abdomen) has been upgraded to probable against North Carolina State.
Analysis: The return of Williams will likley mean less carries for Rolandan Finch.
News: Boston College running back Andre Williams is listed as questionable for Thursday night's game against Florida State with an abdominal injury.
Analysis: Williams is clearly behind Rolandan Finch, but still managed 16 carries and 72 yards last week against Maryland. With Tahj Kimble (head) out, Finch has this backfield all to himself. Even in a questionable matchup, Finch should see enough carries to warrant a starting spot in deeper leagues.
News: Boston College running back Rolandan Finch had 92 yards on 18 carries at Virginia Tech.
Analysis: Not terrific numbers, but Finch has established himself as the back to own in Chestnut Hill. He needs to be added in all formats, and started if you need a bye week fill in. Andre Williams has clearly been passed here, and the only thing limiting Finch's keeper value is Montel Harris' pending medical redshirt appeal to the NCAA.
News: Boston College running back Andre Williams (knee) is expected to play Saturday at Virginia Tech after missing the Eagles' tilt with Clemson.
Analysis: Williams has had a solid but unspectacular season, and appears to have lost his starting job to Rolandan Finch. Stay away from these two this week in a decent matchup against the Hokies and let it sort itself out.
News: Boston College running back Montel Harris (knee) and defensive tackle Kaleb Ramsey (foot) are out for the year and the pair will seek medical redshirts.
Analysis: With Harris out and Andre Williams slowed by an ankle injury, the Eagles' running back depth is looking very thin.
News: Boston College running back Rolandan Finch ran for 81 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries against Clemson.
Analysis: Not a bad showing for a "third" string running back. Tahj Kimble ran 11 times for 57 yards to spell Finch. Andre Williams (ankle) still looks like the Eagles' "RB of the Future" once Montel Harris (knee) departs, but Finch is a name to watch next fall.
News: Boston College running back Andre Williams (ankle) is "iffy" to play Saturday against Clemson, according to head coach Frank Spaziani.
Analysis: The Eagles look like they'll be missing their top two backs, and will have to rely on freshmen Rolandan Finch and Tahj Kimble to carry the load against a Tiger defense which is giving up 176 yards on average.
News: Boston College running back Montel Harris ran 22 times for 108 yards, and added 20 yards receiving against Wake Forest.
Analysis: Harris was aided somewhat by Andre Williams' ankle injury, but he looked terrific running the ball today. Admittedly not in game shape, it's only going to get better for Harris.
News: Boston College running back Andre Williams injured his right ankle during the 2nd quarter of today's game with Wake Forest, and is doubtful to return.
Analysis: The injury looked pretty scary as Williams' leg was stuck under the pile, and his upper body was hit and bent over the pile. X-rays were negative. Montel Harris looks terrific, but is not in game shape yet, so Tahj Kimble and Rolandan Finch will help Harris out. Williams had just two carries for one yard.
News: Boston College running back Montel Harris (knee) is listed as probable for Saturday's game against Massachusetts. Head coach Frank Spazianni indicated Harris will be on a "pitch count," so we'd expect a pretty even split between Harris and Andre Williams.
Analysis: Obviously tremendous news. As long as he comes out of Saturday healthy, he'll resume a full workload soon enough. If an owner lost patience, make sure you grab Harris ASAP.
News: Boston College running back Montel Harris didn't practice Wednesday, and isn't listed on the team's current depth chart.
Analysis: Harris will miss his third game of the season, and rumors of a redshirt season are beginning to pick up. It's hard to see Harris sticking around Chestnut Hill another year, whether he plays this year or not, but it doesn't sound like he'll be back any time soon. Hopefully you didn't draft Harris as your top back, and you have Andre Williams as a handcuff. Williams needs to be owned in all leagues, but has limited upside.
News: Boston College running back Montel Harris (knee) has not returned to practice, and it's looking less likely he will return this week against Duke.
Analysis: I'm beginning to get a little worried about Harris' season, let alone this week. Consider him doubtful unless he practices today, and bump Andre Williams way up for one more week (at least.)
News: With Boston College star running back Montel Harris now confirmed out, in addition to the Eagles losing their best receiver Ifeanyi Momah to a torn ACL, the UCF defense looks like a sneaky play this week.
Analysis: BC will rely on Andre Williams to run the ball but with a lack of playmakers on the offensive side of the ball, the Knights may roll in this one. Consider them when selecting a defense this weekend.
News: Boston College running back Montel Harris (knee) has been officially ruled out of Saturday's contest against UCF. "His leg’s bothering him," coach Frank Spaziani said.
Analysis: With Harris on the sideline, Andre Williams once again becomes a fantasy start.
News: Boston College running back Montel Harris returned to practice Tuesday, but head coach Frank Spaziani stated he is on track to return September 16th against Duke.
Analysis: Spaz noted there was an outside chance he'll play this week. If last week's actives/inactives taught us anything, it's that no one other than Harris and Spaziani know if he'll see the field. Obviously, play it safe, wait one more week, and run Andre Williams back out there.
News: Boston College running back Montel Harris (knee surgery) continues to improve, and is considered day-to-day, according to head coach Frank Spaziani.
Analysis: It's possible Harris practices as early as today, and I'd expect to see him on the field against UCF this Saturday. Having said that, I don't expect him to be a workhouse this weekend, and Andre Williams will get his touches. Neither can be counted on for more than a flex play.
News: Boston College running back Andre Williams (ankle) has no doubts he'll be ready to run Saturday against Northwestern.
Analysis: Williams simply stated "I'm ready for Saturday to come." A sprained ankle kept Williams out of the Eagles' last scrimmage, and it's a little concerning the linked article is even newsworthy. If Williams ankle really is 100%, why comment on it? I see no reason to think Williams won't carry the ball 18-22 times at least this weekend. He's a terrific one-week plug in.
News: Boston College running back Andre Williams left the Eagles' scrimmage over the weekend with a sprained ankle. He had seven carries for 42 yards before departing.
Analysis: Head coach Frank Spaziani gave little details, and the team was expected to examine Williams again today. At this point, we see no reason to be concerned. The Eagles scrimmage again Wednesday, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see Williams rest. With Montel Harris likely to miss the opener against Northwestern, Williams needs to be 100 percent.
News: Boston College running back Montel Harris will be sidelined 3-4 weeks after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his previously repaired left knee.
Analysis: It's a huge blow to his chances to become the ACC's all time leading rusher, as well as your team's possibly top back. Andre Williams is a must add for the first few weeks of the year, and the open offense we've been reading about in Chestnut Hill better be ready.
News: Williams ran for 185 yards and a touchdown on 43 carries against Syracuse Saturday.
Analysis: This guy is good. You really have to wonder why Boston College didn't give Williams and Montel Harris 20 carries each per game instead of 35-plus for just one of the two. Maybe Harris wouldn't be out with a knee injury right now if he hadn't been given such an insanely huge workload.
