K-State back to RB by committee approach

News: Kansas State head coach Bill Snyder said that he will wait up until Saturday to decide who starts at tailback against Miami (FL).
Analysis: Apparently, the starter from the first two weeks, John Hubert, hasn't done enough in Snyder's eyes to have a stronghold on the starting job. Others in the mix are Bryce Brown, who is coming off a minor injury, Angelo Pease and Robert Rose.

Wildcats' RB job still up for grabs

News: Replacing former Kansas State running back Daniel Thomas is proving to be no easy task. Five players, including transfer Bryce Brown, are still competing for the starting job.
Analysis: Other players in the mix are Robert Rose, John Hubert, JUCO transfer Angelo Pease and DeMarcus Robinson. The Wildcats are just two weeks away from their opener against Eastern Kentucky, where most if not all of these backs should receive a look.

Snyder expects Bryce Brown to be pushed

News: Among several position battles brewing at Kansas State, coach Bill Snyder said he expects running backs John Hubert and Robert Rose to push former high school All-American Bryce Brown in fall practices.
Analysis: Snyder finally has some depth to work with, including at secondary, in the trenches, at linebacker and at wide receiver. Brown should still be the guy in the backfield, but it'll be nice to see some battles at practice to amp up the intensity at K-State.
