Analysis: Not the greatest of games overall for Keith Wenning, but he still has the makings of a nice fantasy sleeper this season.
BSU Looking For Wenning To Become One Of The MAC's Best
News: Coach Pete Lembo has expressed confidence Keith Wenning can take the next step and become one of the best quarterbacks in the MAC, according to the Muncie Star Press.
Analysis:Keith Wenning had a bit of a breakout season as a sophomore in 2011, passing for 2,786 yards with 19 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, and he had 12 touchdown passes and three 300-yard games over the final five games of the season. He has definite sleeper potential for fantasy owners this season.
News: Ball State quarterback Keith Wenning threw for 284 yards and two touchdowns against Eastern Michigan. He was picked off once.
Analysis: Wenning is on a role right now, throwing for 944 yards and eight touchdowns in his last three games. He'll need to hit those averages and then some next time out against the juggernaut that is Northern Illinois.
News: Ball State quarterback Keith Wenning hit on 35 of 50 passes for 335 yards and three touchdowns against Western Michigan. He was picked off twice.
Analysis: Wenning has already surpassed last season's yardage totals, but oddly has failed to toss scoring passes in four of nine games. He's hard to recommend, but should be another of many MAC signal callers on your early 2012 watch lists.

Analysis: His favorite target was freshman wide receiver Willie Snead, who hauled in ten passes for 180 yards and a touchdown. Wenning hasn't been overly consistent, but he's worth monitoring for the right matchup. Snead however, is just a name to monitor for now.
News: Ball State quarterback Keith Wenning had 173 yards and two touchdowns through the air, and added 61 yards and a score on the ground in an upset over Indiana.
Analysis: You can't complain about 234 yards and three scores against a BCS opponent. Wenning's rushing totals are particularly eye opening, as he did very little of that in 2010. Avoid Wenning next week against USF, but if he event attempts multiple rushes, we've got something worth tracking.
News: According to head coach Pete Lembo, if the season started today his starting quarterback would be sophomore Keith Wenning.
Analysis: Exciting isn't it? Wenning is battling Kelly Page for snaps, and though Lembo noted things could change, and he won't be formally stating who is starter is, Wenning looks like he has the keys to this no-huddle offense. Wenning had a 14-14 TD:INT ratio last season, but did produce three games in conference with at least three scores. He's not to be completely ignored, but as with most MAC players, his value is in deep leagues as a bye-week spot starter.
News: Wenning is the frontrunner to start under center for the Cardinals, but he does not have a lock on the job, according to Yahoo Sports.
Analysis: Wenning could be very productive in the no-huddle offense of new Ball State head coach Pete Lembo, as long as he can keep the starting job.
News: Wenning completed 16-of-29 passes for 145 yards and three touchdowns while running for 10 yards and another touchdown against Eastern Michigan Saturday.
Analysis: Don't expect him to do as well against Toledo, but Wenning might be worth owning in MAC-only leagues at this point.
News: Wenning completed 12-of-18 passe for 130 yards and two touchdowns against Central Michigan Saturday.
Analysis: Central Michigan isn't what it used to be, but this is still a very nice showing by Wenning. The true freshman isn't worth picking up in any leagues right now, but he's worth watching in MAC-only leagues.
News: Wenning completed 11-of-21 passes for 89 yards and two interceptions against Purdue Saturday.
Analysis: Kelly Page might rotate with Wenning heading forward, and neither player is particularly good to begin with.
News: Wenning completed 13-of-18 passes for 129 yards and a touchdown against Liberty Saturday.
Analysis: Wenning replaced Kelly Page, and he played far better than Page ever did. Wenning might be worth a roster spot in MAC-only leagues if he's confirmed as the starter going forward, but find other options if at all possible.
