News: Tulane has now listed star running back Orleans Darkwa doubtful for their opener against SE Louisiana, after he suffered a hamstring injury during Monday's practice.
Analysis: The hamstring injury was a result of Darkwa compensating for the torn ligament in his left big toe two weeks before camp began. While Albert Williams will replace him in the opener, Jamar Thomas, Robert Kelley and Dante Butler are competing to be the opening game backup. Expect a huge game from Williams against SE Louisiana.
News: Orleans Darkwa, who was a fantasy monster last year with 925 yards and 11 scores is currently day to day as he is dealing with a slightly torn left toe ligament.
Analysis: While the injury does not appear serious, there is no telling how quickly this injury will heal and whether Darkwa will be able to play with the injury come the regular season. Drop him down a few notches in fantasy pools. If he were to miss any time Albert Williams, Stephen Barnett and Jamar Thomas will compete for carries. Williams ran with the first team Monday and excelled.
