News: With all of the injuries Missouri has suffered at running back, wide receiver T.J. Moe volunteered to take some reps at the position.
Analysis:Henry Josey is the only current back on the roster to carry the football in a game. Greg White is also expected to see his first action this week. Moe was the team's top receiver from a year ago so this is a rather significant move - at least this experiment is coming against cupcake Western Illinois.
News: Missouri running back Kendial Lawrence reeled off another 60-yard touchdown run in Thursday's scrimmage, rushing for a total of 76 yards.
Analysis: The other backs struggled (34 yards combined) and besides Lawrence's big run, so did he. Still, Lawrence has shown his explosiveness with three 60-yard carries to the promised land in two scrimmages, and this should be enough to separate himself a bit from De'Vion Moore, Henry Josey and Greg White.
News: Missouri is looking to move away from the by-committee running back approach, and coach Gary Pinkel is hoping one dude can step up. De'Vion Moore and Kendial Lawrence appear the most likely, with The Kansas City Star also noting Henry Josey and Greg White as factors.
Analysis: A healthy Moore is the likely workhorse, however Kendial Lawrence presents the highest ceiling in 2011. However it may be the well-built White that emerges as a goal line vulture.
