SC's Wilds Out 2-3 Weeks

News: Brandon Wilds is out at least two weeks with a sprained ankle, NBCSports.com reports.
Analysis: Brandon Wilds will certainly miss Thursday's opener at Vanderbilt, and his status beyond then is in question as well. Kenny Miles will serve as the primary backup to Marcus Lattimore in the interim.

Brandon Wilds brutalizes The Citadel

News: South Carolina running back Brandon Wilds continued his punishing ways as he rushed for 109 yards and two scores against The Citadel while also adding 55 yards receiving.
Analysis: Wilds has been a solid performer since Marcus Lattimore went down but is a cautious play next week against Clemson.

Expect a big day from Brandon Wilds

News: South Carolina has found some success with their ground game despite not having Marcus Lattimore, and it is partially due to the emergence of Brandon Wilds as a workhorse back.  Wilds can carry the load and gets help from the rushing ability of quarterback Connor Shaw.
Analysis: Wilds will see plenty of carries against The Citadel which makes him a nice start during the playoffs.

Gamecocks go ground heavy to get win

News: With Connor Shaw managing just 81 yards passing and a pick, you may wonder how the Gamecocks managed to beat Florida.  The Fun 'N Gun has switched to a ground attack as Shaw rushed for 88 yards and two scores while Brandon Wilds carried the ball 29 times for 120 yards.
Analysis: Wilds is a great start next week against Citadel while Shaw should take to the air a bit more.  With this new found ground surge, we can put to rest any chance of production from Alshon Jeffery though.

Connor Shaw questionable for Florida game

News: South Carolina quarterback Connor Shaw sustained a concussion in the final moments of the Arkansas game and is currently listed as questionable against Florida.
Analysis: If Shaw is a no-go, the Gamecocks could be in some real trouble as the offense hasn't been necessarily spectacular with him healthy.  Regardless of his health, sit Alshon Jeffery and Brandon Wilds this weekend.

Frosh Phenom: RB Brandon Wilds

News: While he has not replaced Marcus Lattimore, South Carolina freshman running back Brandon Wilds has stepped in and shown that he can be the team's workhorse back.  When he faces an Arkansas squad who is giving up nearly 190 yards on the ground, he should see plenty of carries.
Analysis: It is likely Wilds is available in your league and he should put together a solid day's work against the Razorbacks.

Gamecock RB runs Wild(s) on Vols

News: While he is not necessarily making people forget who Marcus Lattimore is, South Carolina freshman running back Brandon Wilds did his best impression carrying the ball 28 times for 137 yards while adding 31 yards receiving against Tennessee.
Analysis: That many touches for Wilds means he will likely be a centerpiece of the offense so be sure to snag him up in BCS leagues.

News: South Carolina wide receiver Bruce Ellington is expected to play this weekend but is still dealing with a hamstring injury.
Analysis: It will be interesting to see how the Gamecocks cope with the loss of Marcus LattimoreBrandon Wilds gets the start at running back, but expect Ellington to see some snaps out of the Wildcat.

Brandon Wilds to start against the Vols

News: With Kenny Miles and Eric Baker listed as questionable, South Carolina freshman running back Brandon Wilds will get the start against Tennessee.
Analysis: If Connor Shaw can put up some decent play, then Wilds could have a solid day. But for those dejected Marcus Lattimore owners, don't put too much stock in this youngster.

Who replaces Marcus Lattimore?

News: ESPN did a nice analysis of the possible candidates to fill Marcus Lattimore's cleats with the top options being Brandon Wilds, Bruce Ellington, Eric Baker, and Kenny Miles
Analysis: Look for Wilds to get a good chunk of the work along with Miles, who was the team's leading rusher before Lattimore arrived.  As for Ellington, he is likely stay at wide receiver but will see snaps as the team's Wildcat quarterback.
