Ohio State's Vannett Named Co-Starter at Tight End
News:Nick Vannett, a redshirt freshman, has thoroughly impressed during Ohio State's camp and is currently the co-starter at tight end with sophomore Jeff Heuerman, BuckeyeGrove.com reports.
Analysis: With last year's starter, Jake Stoneburner, moving to wide receiver, both Nick Vannett and Heuerman should see significant playing time in coach Urban Meyer's offensive scheme, no matter who happens to start each week. Vannett is an imposing figure at 6-6, 248 pounds, so he would appear to have a skill set that doesn't fit into Meyer's spread system, but earning his praise and the starting gig has to raise Vannett's fantasy profile out of the darkness.
