Hoosiers' Houston Held Out of End Zone

News: Stephen Houston rushed for 52 yards on 18 carries Saturday against Iowa. He also caught four passes for 22 yards.
Analysis: Stephen Houston has been a great source of touchdowns with nine already this season. He's been a solid back who can be used in deeper leagues.

Indiana's Houston Has TDs in Eight Consecutive Games

News: Stephen Houston has tallied at least one touchdown in eight consecutive contests, dating back to 2011, Indiana football's official Twitter page reports.
Analysis: Stephen Houston received his most carries of the season this past Saturday against Navy, toting the rock 21 times for 82 yards (3.9 YPC) and a touchdown. Over the last five tilts, he's contributed at least 80 yards rushing on four occasions, with 20-plus receiving yards in four other games. Furthermore, he has a great matchup this weekend against an Illinois front that has given up 157.1 yards per game and 15 touchdowns in seven contests in 2012.

Indiana's Houston Adds TD

News: Stephen Houston caught four balls for 30 yards and a touchdown, while rushing 10 times for 22 yards (2.2 YPC), during Indiana's 31-27 loss Saturday versus Michigan State.
Analysis: Stephen Houston notched a 19-yard receiving touchdown in the first 77 seconds of the contest but produced little afterward. Through five weeks, he's averaged 10.4 carries, with three outings of less than 3.3 yards per run. Still, he has a touchdown of some sort in all five weeks, which should provide fantasy owners with a semblance of confidence.

Indiana's Houston Picks Up Rushing TD

News: Stephen Houston led Indiana with 11 carries for 91 yards (8.3 YPC) and a touchdown, while catching four passes for 22 yards, in the Hoosiers' 44-29 loss at Northwestern on Saturday.
Analysis: Stephen Houston dashed 20 yards for Indiana's first score of the game during their first drive of the third quarter. However, he only received 11 of the 28 carries doled out Saturday, which despite his success per rush, doesn't inspire much confidence in him at the moment. Still, he remains the Hoosiers' best option on the ground and definitely holds value in Big Ten only leagues.

Indiana's Houston With 100 Yards on Ground

News: Stephen Houston had 12 totes for 102 yards and a touchdown Saturday during Indiana's heart-breaking 41-39 defeat to Ball State.
Analysis: Stephen Houston also caught four passes for 32 yards and ran in a two-point conversion for a decent all-around night. He now has a touchdown in all three games this year, and with his first 100-yard outing on the ground, he seems as if he's finally attained the No. 1 running back gig after he failed to win the job -- as was expected -- during training camp.

Indiana's Houston Posts Another Score

News: Stephen Houston rushed just nine times for 24 yards and a touchdown, but provided a 31-yard reception during Indiana's blowout win over Massachusetts on Saturday.
Analysis: Stephen Houston was presumed to be the No. 1 running back entering camp, but with four backs carrying the ball at least 10 times through two contests, it's advisable to avoid to the Hoosiers' backfield situation until a sole RB emerges - if it happens.

Indiana's Houston Sits, Then Scores

News: Stephen Houston ran 10 times for 33 yards (3.3 YPC) and a touchdown during Indiana's 24-17 win over Indiana State on Saturday.
Analysis: He didn't see the field in the first quarter as De'Angelo Roberts and Tevin Coleman took turns toting the rock, but Stephen Houston's first touch in the second quarter resulted in a 15-yard TD run, giving the Hoosiers the lead for good. Houston looks to be a secondary option at the moment, though if he gains the starting gig at some point this season, he will likely take advantage of the team's robust rushing scheme, which included 47 runs Saturday.

Houston Number Two On Depth Chart

News: Stephen Houston is listed as the backup on Indiana's most recent depth chart, the Bloomington Times-Herald reports.
Analysis: Stephen Houston, the Hoosiers leading rusher from a year ago, had been losing his job security as Indiana coach Kevin Wilson openly questioned his practice habits. He ran for 802 yards and eight touchdowns last season, but could begin this season buried on the depth chart.

Indiana's Houston Losing Grip on Starting Gig

News: Stephen Houston, who was expected to take over the reins as the Hoosiers' starting tailback this season, is falling down the depth chart in training camp, the Bloomington Herald-Times reports.
Analysis: Last year, Stephen Houston led Indiana with 802 yards rushing (5.3 YPC) and eight touchdowns, but he's apparently losing ground to sophomores D'Angelo Roberts and Isaiah Roundtree and freshman Tevin Coleman. Coach Kevin Wilson said Monday that "Houston might be third or fourth. D'Angelo was out there first the other night, and he was out there first all week. Tevin Coleman was second." Wilson believes that competition will bring the cream of the crop to the top, but Houston doesn't seem to be getting the memo.

Stephen Houston has a big day

News: Indiana running back Stephen Houston had 183 yards of offense (151 rush) and two touchdowns against Northwestern.
Analysis: Houston is averaging 5.1 yards-per-carry and is now up to six touchdowns on the season.  If he's on your waiver wire, he's worth an add.

Indiana has fantasy options vs. NU

News: Indiana has some options for your lineups this week, notably running back Stephen Houston and quarterback Tre Roberson.
Analysis: Northwestern has struggled defensively this season, ranking 95th against the pass and 78th against the run, while allowing 17 rushing touchdowns this campaign.

Stephen Houston scores twice for IU

News: Indiana running back Stephen Houston rushed for 75 yards and two touchdowns in the loss to Iowa.
Analysis: Houston hasn't been spectacular, but he's been a steady flex option the last two weeks.  Snap him up if you need help.

Big Ten sleeper pick: Edwin Baker

News: Michigan State running back Edwin Baker is my Big Ten sleeper fantasy pick of the week against Wisconsin.
Analysis: Over the last two games, the Badgers have allowed 96 yards and a touchdown to Nebraska's Rex Burkhead, then gave up 135 yards and a score to Indiana's Stephen Houston.   If MSU sticks to the run, Baker should be a fine RB3 or flex this week with upside.

Stephen Houston coming on for IU

News: Indiana running back Stephen Houston rushed 19 times for 135 yards an a touchdown in the loss to Wisconsin.
Analysis: Houston seems like a good bet for 15-18 touches every week and would be a decent bye week filler in Big Ten leagues.
