Preseason Outlook

Prater an intriguing kicker to target: With Peyton Manning joining the Broncos, many people believe their offense will begin putting up some big numbers. That could and should mean more opportunities for field goals and extra points for kicker Matt Prater. Kickers playing with Manning in Indianapolis finished as Top 10 options in seven of his 13 years there. Prater, who has been given the franchise tag by the Broncos, has finished as a Top 10 kicker in Fantasy just once and has made 80 percent of his field goals in that span. (Updated 03/20/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
Prater didn't always have a lot of opportunities to kick; the Broncos offense was a mess over the last two seasons. And to his credit, he's nailed 12 of 16 field goals from 50-plus yards. Prater's fine to draft with a final-round pick but don't be married to him if he's not productive right away. (Updated 03/20/2012).
