Fantasy Analysis
Grimes totaled 49 tackles with an interception and 14 passes defensed in 12 games last season. Those totals are weak compared to his previous totals (11 total interceptions and 36 passes defensed in 2009 and 2010), so the hope here is that Grimes rebounds in what might end up being a contract year once again in 2012. We'd grab him with a middle- to late-round pick. (Updated 04/24/2012).
Brent Grimes was franchised by the Falcons this offseason, keeping him with the team for 2012. Injuries slowed down Grimes in 2011 as he had just one interception and 14 passes defensed (in 2010 he had five interceptions and 23 passes defensed). He also failed to contribute heavily in tackles, leaving Fantasy owners short there with 49. We see him as a low-risk, high-reward Fantasy defensive back well worth a late-round pick.
