Williams in lead to start

Williams, according to the report, is listed ahead of A.J. Jenkins for the "X" receiver with Boldin starting at the "Z."

Williams making progress

He isn't allowed to participate in team drills in OTAs but could be part of the wideout rotation by the time the preseason gets cranked up. "I feel great and I'm making progress every single day," Williams said. "I want to stay on that same path and be ready for Week 1."

Two Niners on the mend

However once team drills started both players went to side fields for conditioning work with trainers. "I’m not going to comment on the timetable. But, they’re progressing really well," coach Jim Harbaugh said of both players as they continue to rehab from their injuries.

Williams back to running
