(8/9/14) Chiefs defensive back Steve Gregory announced his retirement from the NFL Saturday, via his management agency.
Gregory signed with the Chiefs just last week, but said in a statement that his decision was motivated by family obligations. Gregory appeared in 111 games over eight seasons, including 54 as a starter. He finishes his career with three sacks, seven interceptions and 278 tackles recorded.

(7/31/14) On the same day safety Eric Berry suffered an ankle injury, the Chiefs signed veteran safety Steve Gregory. Gregory played in 26 games and started 23 for the Patriots the past two seasons, registering 116 tackles, four interceptions and two forced fumbles.
|Patriots to release Steve Gregory |

(2/28/14) The Patriots are expected to release safety Steve Gregory on Friday, reports the Boston Globe. His agent, David Canter, announced the move via Twitter.
Gregory, who started 23 games for the Patriots the last two seasons, is a salary-cap victim. His cap number increased to $3.683 million for 2014 based on play-time markers, but the Patriots save $2.85 million of that by cutting him before next season, the final year of his deal.
