Fantasy Analysis
Atkins continues to add to his career-best sack total during his second NFL season. He has produced strong numbers for a fourth-round selection in the 2010 draft and now has a sack in five of his past six games. Consider him a rising option in most Fantasy IDP formats. (Updated 12/18/2011).
05/08/2012 17:00 Third-down sacks: Seeking biggest stops a defense can get

05/04/2012 00:02 Rookie starters for 2012? Bengals, Bucs, Jags, Browns will have a few
Get over the post-draft glow. Pat Kirwan says only 3 percent of picks start as rookies in a good year, but singles out the Bucs, Browns, Jaguars and especially the hot-drafting Bengals for finding three potential starters for 2012.
Geno Atkins led the Bengals in sacks last season with 7.5 and added 47 total tackles with a pair of forced fumbles and a pair of passes defensed. He should continue to get the opportunity to get to the quarterback for the Bengals, and with 10.5 sacks in two seasons (he didn't play much as a rookie), Fantasy owners should consider gambling on him as a low-end No. 3 defensive lineman with a late-round pick.
