Chapas added as insurance: The Lions released wide receiver Lance Long on Friday to clear a spot on the active roster for tight end Shaun Chapas, who was promoted from the team's practice squad. Chapas will serve as depth at the position as starting tight end Brandon Pettigrew is unlikely to play in Week 15.
