49ers list Week 16 inactives vs. Chargers
|by R.J. White | CBSSports.com|
|(12/20/14) The 49ers have listed the following players as inactive for Saturday's Week 16 matchup against the Chargers: running back Carlos Hyde (ankle), wide receiver Steve Johnson (knee), cornerback Tramaine Brock (hamstring), linebacker Ahmad Brooks (thumb), quarterback Josh Johnson and guards Andrew Tiller and Joe Looney.
Hyde, Johnson and Brock were all ruled out for Saturday's game on the team's final report, but Brooks joins them on the inactive list after being deemed questionable. The team will have running back Frank Gore and wide receiver Michael Crabtree active for the game.
The 49ers are a 1-point favorite for the Saturday night showdown with the Chargers.

49ers issue inactives for Week 15

|(12/14/14) The 49ers have listed QB Josh Johnson, WR Steve Johnson, OL Marcus Martin, OL Anthony Davis, S Raymond Ventrone, CB Tramaine Brock and CB Chris Culliver as inactive Week 15 against the Seahawks.
Brock, Culliver, Martin and Ventrone all came into the contest listed as questionable, but none of them will play. Stevie Johnson had been ruled out prior to Sunday. Both Josh Johnson and Anthony Davis are healthy scratches.
|Steve Johnson was traded from the Bills to the 49ers during the NFL Draft, and he will try to resurrect his career in San Francisco. Johnson is coming off his worst season since 2009, but we're not expecting him to regain his form with the 49ers, who are loaded at receiver with Michael Crabtree, Anquan Boldin and Quinton Patton. Johnson will likely supplant Patton as the No. 3 receiver, but he will struggle to regain his form from 2010-12 when he was a consistent threat. Over that three-year span, Johnson had at least 76 catches, 1,000 yards and six touchdowns. But it will take a lot for him to reach those totals with the 49ers, and we don't recommend drafting Johnson in most standard leagues with anything more than a late-round flier.
